Well if he does well here, we can't bid for him above his option that was declined.

We could use someone healthy possibly....

But it was probably just a cash grab.

Whatever he is owed for the remainder of the year + an extra 500k to a million bucks for Vivek is probably why we made the move. Didn't lose anything unless the TPE could of been used in a different way for actual perks. Not much of an asset if that was the case coming back.
Actually LAC is paying the remainder of his salary this year, plus paying SAC an additional $2M to agree to the trade.

LAC saves cap, SAC gets paid to take a look at a 2nd year player who just so happens to play the same position our squad is paper thin at.

No brainer.

Wow thought Vivek would of taken less lol. Well 2 million for nothing, can't beat that.

Going to be an interesting day. Bagley, Barnes, Bjelica, Holmes, Whiteside maybe even Buddy could be in play depending on FO objectives

I think they would try to hold Holmes but that depends on how good they feel about re signing him

It feels like it’s going to be a really slow day. I think the Kings move Bjelica and that’s it. Hopefully I’m wrong, but it just doesn’t feel like big moves are going to happen.

I don’t get how they can just do nothing. We aren’t a playoff team, we aren’t bad enough for a top 5 pick. You either tank and keep Walton rest of year or you make some moves fire Walton and compete. There is no middle ground.

You are speaking with logic. That is something that seems to be lacking with the Kings...

In all seriousness, the starting 5 has shown that they can play. It’s the bench that is beyond horrific. I can absolutely see a world where they don’t do anything with the top-5 players and make smaller moves. I think Bagley stays put because the market is lackluster. The rest of the bench is terrible. Maybe Whiteside gets moved for a 2nd, but that’s it. The team is in the middle right now and it seems like they are comfortable with it. The comments by Haliburton are evidence of that. They seem to want to figure out who they are instead of buying outside products in hopes that they will change the team. There is no identity with this team. If they figure out what that identity is, then they can build. Until then, they should hold off or blow the whole thing up. They don’t have the balls to do the latter.

I hope I’m wrong.

I think we have to take the national writers at their words at this point that the team wants to compete

Still will be interesting how they plan on handling Holmes contract

If the plan is to try and resign Holmes, we need to at the very minimum prioritize dumping Joseph.

I just did very quick math but

Fox, Buddy, Barnes, Bagley, Hali, Ramsey, Woodard = 89.485 million. Our 1st is something like a 3.5-4 million hold right? + 4 more minimum cap holds. I think we should be able to offer him 15 per year. 4/60 or so. Maybe I'm missing something.

You don’t keep Bagley and Holmes. IMO that’s part of the reason Bagley is on the outs. You chose one this off-season if bags makes it on the roster past the deadline.

That team you put above has 0 chance of doing anything worthwhile.

I trust monte thus far but my frustration with the team is sky high. Scottie Barnes is nice but he is not kuminga and we need kuminga. We won’t get there if we stay status quo. Just good enough for 10th pick.

I really like Delon Wright too, I've been a fan of his game for a while. Solid pickup for the corpse of CoJo.

I like Wright too. I’m hoping for the best here, but that just tacked on salary for next season.

I have a feeling this won't be the last move. Barnes is probably on his way out next.

Something isn’t adding up with adding wrights salary with Holmes contract so that might be so (unless they really think he’s taking this exception)
