Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Looks like McGee's going to the Nuggets. Oh well.
What're your guys thoughts on Aldridge? Woj and Lowe mentioned us as a possible destination for him yesterday. I could see Kupchak doing it, but in the end I don't see it as likely to happen.

Fournier to Boston for 2 second rounders. That was pretty cheap...
I would like to pick up Bamba too.

Two teams are “bidding” for Sacramento Kings center Hassan Whiteside ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, according to Chris Sheridan of Basketball News.
While Sheridan didn’t offer details, Whiteside has been linked to several opposing teams, with the Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Hornets among those recently mentioned.
That said, per Sheridan, the Kings haven’t reached a firm decision. While they are listening to offers, they could also keep Whiteside to make a run at the playoff play-in tournament.

I mean...clear upgrade and probably a rental. He's a headcase but I'm probably down. 7 footer with 7'7 wingspan.
It probably won't happen though.

I just can't imagine we don't do anything to address C depth. Wondering if they have a buyout candidate in mind or something.

Honestly I love that. Great for depth. He's probably just as good as Tae lol. Hope it's just for a 2nd or something.
Just to clarify I was trolling about the just as good as Tae thing. But I don't mind it if we didn't give up anything.

Drummond will be available within days, if the front office has any interest.

Instead he goes to Chicago. They've gotten a lot better today.

He's an UFA this summer, and BOS sent Mo Wagner for him, which to me suggests the asking price was super low and we still were like that's ok, we'll get him this summer.
I wonder if we've already talked to his agent and confirmed that he's interested in signing this summer.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
No I suspect we didn’t do much of anything as usual. Mitch seems to get a case of hives and rashes when he has to subject himself to the pressures of drafting. In his elder years he prefers to avoid it. Better to do a minor nothing deal with”the club” to help someone with their cap. “Nice, and the drinks on on me Mitch”...says his pal at GS. But then again, all of our young big talent is so good they rarely play, so taking a shot with someone who could actually help this year for little of nothing is not preferable.
OK, my annual rant about doing nothing at the trade deadline is over. Back to whatever we’re about to do. We are so improved over being a treadmill team, that I wanted us to add someone who can keep us from sliding back to that status at years end.

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

We can sign Jabari Parker and call it a “day”. Nothing major, but we should remain competitive for the year which is much better than constantly losing.

I'm confused, did you mean to say "the pressures of trading"?

I don't think we have an open roster spot. Maybe the plan is to waive Wanamaker?

More than ok staying put. Probably would've got in on Mcgee, but oh well.
