Philly needs to trade for Lowry now, since they won't be able to sign him and a sign and trade wouldn't work with Seth Curry, as they only have the giant 3 contracts. So Philly needs to use Danny Green and Mike Scott's expirings.

I know right, if it was a true smokescreen, it would’ve been another Eastern conference team

If Redick gets bought out and joins the 76ers, perhaps that helps the Kyle trade to Philly as it help with the depth Philly loses.

This is a dumb take. Norm is a much better player and had great playoff moments.

Herro was absolutely exposed in the playoffs outside of one game he shot the lights out? He looked overmatched on defense especially.

He's also been trash this year, so you'll have to forgive people who are suspicious of this guy. I'm not a Tyler Herro fan at all and am hoping for the Sixers package.

I fully agree with TheStepien's scouting report and analysis on his likely outcome:

https://www.thestepien.com/2019/06/18/tyler-herro-scouting-report/

Are we just going to ignore that Herro is in his 2nd year and missed 11 games this season due to injury/COVID? How tf are you guys even evaluating these prospects?

"hERrO fLuKE pLaYoFF rUN"

Wtf have all these other guys like Thybulle, Achiuwa, Maxey?

Thybulle put up an impressive 2/1/1 in the playoffs, and the other 2 are just rookies. As far as I'm concerned, Herro has proven far more than any of the other guys. If the bubble was a fluke that allowed players to put up big numbers according to you guys, than I'd be really worried about Thybulle

We want future first round picks over Herro. Miami does not have them. Nobody cares about Thybulle or Maxey, id move them today for other future picks.

exactly ^
the picks create more value than anything. The allure of them alone are great for packages in future trades or if Masai likes the draft, he will use them and draft the next stud

The Sixers, even with Morey, are desperate to win and have been in on Lowry forever. Their offer for Lowry has probably always been fairly solid, give or take.

Miami doesn’t have the same urgency because Riley and Masai both know Herro needs to be included in this.

Unless you're willing to take FRPs like 3 or 4 years in the future with light protections, then I don't see how future picks are more valuable than contributing NBA players.

3-4 years is a long time in the basketball world. It could be a late first, it could be a lottery first. Either way, it's almost half a decade away.

I'd much, much prefer to take a chance on a 21 year old on a cheap deal who has shown he has chops in the NBA Finals over some kid who's probably only 14 right now.

I don't understand this take because both Maxey & Thybulle are late 1st round picks... So for arguments sake, let's say the deal is Maxey, Thybulle & a 1st, you'd rather have three 1st rounders and wait 2-4 or 4 - 6 years to get picks 2 & 3?

Philly is the natural fit here.
If they do not want to offer fair compensation and are playing hardball, I have no problem sending him to the Lakers for less. Sometimes you have to take less to maintain negotiation equity for the future.

Herro > Maxey, Thybulle

Dunno what’s the fascination with Maxey who is undersized and unproven

I'm beginning to sense disappointment coming after all these posturing and no deal so far.

Chill, trade deadline isn't for another 3 hours.
