you guys want Trent JR for Lauri?

He’s being rumored right now to Chicago.

I think flipping Lauri for another guy with RFA status makes a lot of sense. Lauri and Vuc don’t make sense. But I think Lauri had been a lot better than Trent, so idk.

Edit: Mentioned as a guy to Chicago in ESPN, that’s it.

Top-4 protected in 2021 and unprotected in 2023? Jesus man. CHI really banking on Pat Williams becoming the next Kawai.

Unprotected in 2023 is a tough one to swallow.... especially considering Lavine is a free agent the summer before the 2023 season.

The phrasing here leaves two options: 1. 2023 is unprotected 2. we don't know what the 2023 protection is yet. These guys don't often tweet super carefully.

Yeah I see confirmed now from this guy. That's the strongest confirmation we've gotten and it makes sense.

First impression I wasn't impressed. Didn't think we were getting enough back for giving up Vucevic, and what was evenly annoying was thinking about how effective the combination of LaVine/Vooch will work together. Hardly the huge package we were supposed to be demanding for him.

After clarifying the pick protection, I don't hate it, but don't love it either. If we're going to commit to the reset we may as well start off with losing our best player and garnering all the picks we can in the process. Wouldn't mind us flipping WCJ for some more picks and letting Birch/Bamba close out the rest of the season at the five. I presume Porter is going to be bought out soon.

Ugh. So two top 4 protected 1sts?

Vuc isn’t worth that. Yeah, can’t like that for Chicago any longer.

Flip this to big Magic win.

Rough one for the Bulls. did they believe they were in a bidding war? if you are buying on Vucevic you are banking you will make the playoffs. if you dont, then deal went wrong. should have been able to get top 8-10 protections.

Very biased but I have this as a HUGE win for the Bulls. I'd hope this clearly pushed us into the playoffs this year and the pick we give Orlando falls between 15-20, and I also take it as an indication that the Bulls are going to continue making moves with an eye on now, which hopefully make the 2023 pick an eve later first round pick.

I won't miss Carter or Porter at all. So really a late teens pick and hopefully mid 20's pick for an all-star center? Yes. Every time.

I mean, outside looking in, i had thought it would be like a lotto protected first and a pair of seconds. to me this is a massive haul for Vuc.

So maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I think the Bulls aren't looking to take back salary in a Lauri trade. Right now, WCJ for Vuc doesn't work salary wise.

Bamba on the move for ORL too? Assuming ORL sees WCJ as an asset - and given he already wasn't playing ahead of Birch - can't imagine he sticks around now. But, hard to swing this many trades in one day.

I like it for CHI too. Two efficient high-level players make them attractive for an offseason star to fit right in.

Hoping GS can get in on the Orlando fire sale. Would love to see an Oubre for Ross deal

I mean, if the deal was WCJ and a 1st, the thread gets locked for being such a bad offer for an all star, doesn’t it? So most people place the value between 1-2 picks.

What star wants to join to high usage players for an 8 seed in an east that features Nets/Bucks/76ers? Especially if one of those stars can leave in free agency after next year? that star would also need to take less then the max.

This is a deal where if the Bulls use this deal to vault in the playoffs for the foreseeable future, it will be a win. WCJ and two non lotto picks for Vuc is a great deal. However if the Bulls continue treading where they are at and both of those picks turn into solid mid lottery picks, this will be a major loss for the Bulls.
