On the Magic forum they are in total "stockholm syndrome" convincing themselves they actually got value for Vuc in return.

Realistically how have the bulls first round picks after Jimmy really looked? I don’t get how people would rather get a maybe than a sure thing. Also those pics will probably be pushed out some years and be in the high teens or 20s

he could only compare it to that because that's only trade Bulls ever did worthwhile mentioned acquiring someone instead shipping them out in his lousy reporter career since he is with Bulls. I must say I feel sad for him. That's all he knew.

Congrats guys. I feel like the first round picks outside the top5 are so overrated. And Karnisovas has proven he can find gems even in the 2nd round.

I always thought a trade for Vuc would've taken 3 firsts, WCJ, Lauri and Coby. All things considered, this is a great deal for us. They took WCJ off our hands and we instantly fill a position of need, plus get an all star next to Zach. All we need now is a starting PG.

i know that zach is a deeply flawed playmaker for others, but i think playing with lavine (and satoransky and thad) is an upgrade from playing with cole anthony and michael carter-williams

I mean, I will readily admit that our team is gonna be better than this Orlando team. But that says nothing. Do you feel like we are a very good team as presently constructed? I think we will struggle offensively until we get a true primary playmaker. Defensively...yeesh.

If the Bulls traded Zach for a package like this I'd be really pissed. That says it all imo.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

This is an absolute fleecing of the Magic by the Bulls FO, unless the Bulls get hit with some major injuries there is no way that this year pick convey's it's way into the top 10, and how they didn't get zero protections on the '2023 pick is beyond me. Artis' took them to the cleaners...oh but they got salary relief. lol

OMG!!! Yes. As others have said, wish we didn’t have to give up two first rounders, but we need this change big time!!! If we can somehow get Lonzo too, then we’d be in a very good position!

At what point do you take yourself out of rebuild mode? At what point do you establish yourself as one of the up and coming playoff teams and take advantage of your big market and show you’re one star away from being a championship contender? There’s a reason why Orlando Magic’s of the world stay in the state they are in. Constantly hitting the reset button every 5 years because they aren’t in position to compete right now.. there are stars who demand trades every single year and every single year Chicago isn’t on their list. Why? Because the former management never was aggressive to build a playoff bound team with the mindset of saying “we aren’t realistically going to win anything so why go for it?”

Hopefully this way of thinking is DONE. Tired of drafting the Lauri’s Wendells Coby Whites of the world and passing on available talented stars. Focus on today stop thinking about 4 or 5 years down the line when we don’t even have a Lamelo Ball or Anthony Edwards or Luka etc.. to do that with..

We legitimately can enter the top 5 seed in the East with this move. This will look so good for pending FAs who are looking for a good team that’s right on the brink.

I couldn’t agree more it’s crazy how after all these failed draft picks in the last 20 years people are still trying to do the same thing.

Other than Golden State in recent years who is really won a championship off just draft picks?

How can people rather take a risk on a an unproven rookie then a guy that’s an all-star.

Right, this deal is only salvagable for them if the Bulls continue a downward trend this year(not likely with Vuc now) and the Bulls pick lands in the 7-10 range. They should have demanded no protections on at least one of the picks.

i think having two very, very good offensive players will make us good on offense even if we don't have a traditional primary playmaker. i think we'll be able to roll out four plus passers for their positions, which should really go a long way. (i guess it's debatable if zach qualifies as a plus passer? but i feel like the amount of defensive attention he draws and his willingness to pass makes up for his sloppiness and the fact that he's not a natural creator for others)

defense, yeesh is right but at least we have a big body at the 5? i also think getting rid of lauri and shifting coby to a bench shooter role (or trading him too!) could go a long way on that front

It's kind of a weird trade. I'm skeptical from our perspective. But on the other hand, I can't say the Magic killed it or anything.

We really should be a playoff team now, so the picks aren't huge value.

To me the biggest loss of value is what our '21 pick could have been if we did a slight teardown. That could have been a top 5-8 pick.
