I agree. Complaining about flexibility with the **** we've had to go through this year is silly. This is a good move.

The problem is that we wasted the TPE if he walks at the end of the year. It's a great trade in a vacuum. I'm hoping that another shoe falls and this trade is expanded to include Gordon.

Wasted? Who'd you think they were getting with it?

I would prefer any combination of players (even lesser players than EV) who might actually be around into the Jays' primes. That's why I said "if he walks". If we resign him, I love the deal.

In a vacuum, decent move. If there's no follow-up and we just burned a TPE and two 2nds for a rental then boo.

I don’t mind. We need shooting and scoring help. We need Gordon next!

Honestly Gordon is overrated. Hes a 15ppg 7rpg player that has yet to really break out beyond his dunk competition self. His skill set also wont age well.

Well for two second round picks and the TPE...can't go wrong with that.

Best used alongside Smart; not a good defensive player but can be one of the league's top scorers if his teammates don't freeze him out.

Of course you can. You can absolutely use a $20M TPE for two differnt $10M players.

hugepatsfan wrote:What an awful deal for BOS. Team is f-ing trash and Fournier ain't fixing it in HALF a season. And now pretty much and chance at landing an actual difference maker into the TPE is gone with like $10-11M left.

The only positive spin here could be that I guess BOS could re-sign Fournier with bird rights and still have the MLE to use this offseason. But that probably requires ownership to go a lot damn deeper into the luxury tax than any ownership group should be willing to for Evan Fournier and a mini-MLE player.

I really disagree here. Cs didn't really give up much and you are plugging Fournier into minutes that guys that should have been riding the DEEP end of the bench have been getting? I love it. Fournier is really underrated on this Celtics board. Adding an extra shooter and excellent playmaker can certainly make a huge difference.

And we didn't lose anybody.

I love it. Really thrilled to have Fournier on the team that needs an offensive spark outside of our Jays.

Solid addition! 6'7" SG, 20ppg, 40% 3PT, 28 y/o for 2 2nds. Probably got a commitment to sign him and he's gonna help RIGHT ***** NOW. That's one Ainge. More to come I'm sure

Would also say it sounds like TT has been a real issue in the locker room. Would love to find a way to move off him in a deal today. Just didn't work out there.

As far as Fournier goes, our D already sucks so not honestly worried he breaks us there - he's not a total sieve, just limited.

Personally, I think he has a bit of a chance to flourish if given a role on a better team, much like Bogdanovic did for Indy and now Utah. He's a smart passer, crafty, knows how to get to the FT line. I think he will do really well leading 2nd units when Jayson is on the bench and relieve some of that pressure from Jaylen.

I also think if he has a good run here there's a decent likelihood he can be retained at a reasonable number. Does not appear like there's huge appetite for him given how cheap it was to get him. At 28 and with limited injury woes, if he likes it here he could be a nice mid-term fit for 2 years.

I haven't heard about TT locker room issues. Do you have a link. I will say that on court has been very noticeable. I don't have an issue with his play - but he seems to get visibly upset sometimes when guys don't get him the ball. Dude - that's not why you are on the court. Just do your job.

He's Blake-lite. Still would've liked to have him, but my heart isn't broken if he plays elsewhere.
