I don’t have time to read this thread. I see this year’s pick has top 4 protection. What are the details on the other pick?

As an aside, I will find it much easier to like this trade if we land Lonzo and legitimately are trying to set a competitive core for several years coming.

If that’s the case then it would be for Coby.

Let them go be Kings fans or something. Those days are over for the Bulls. They can post in the draft thread all they want.

Those 2 picks kinda hurts my soul but if they nabbed Lonzo now than worth it.

We really should be a playoff team now, so the picks aren't huge value.

To me the biggest loss of value is what our '21 pick could have been if we did a slight teardown. That could have been a top 5-8 pick.

Unlikely we'd decline enough to have a worse record than Cleveland or Washington. I.e., "best case scenario," we'd be at the 7th spot.

And I think we all know how that 7th spot has worked for us thus far...

5th-7th in the lottery is a very nice place to be under the new odds.

Best case scenario we'd have a top 4 pick (roughly 40% chance of happening at the 5th/6th spot which is very high).

This has happened once for us and we wound up with Patrick williams. I like Patrick williams as much as anyone but he’s not the type of prospect that you pass up on trading for an all star C on a declining deal that you can easily flip again in the next two years because he’s on a team friendly deal.

Top 4 on both, per KC.

No idea what to think cause I don't follow Vucevic but probably the most potent 1-2 scoring punch we've had since the dynasty????

If the Bulls traded Zach for a package like this I'd be really pissed. That says it all imo.

Jimmy Butler for Zach Lavine, Dunn and 7th pick.

It was actually Jimmy Butler and the 16th pick for LaVine, Dunn, and the 7th pick (Markkanen).

That is a lot to give up for a 30 year old. Really was kinda interested in more draft picks from AK. This is a lot to digest

True. This is a bit risky and if Zach or Vuc had issues, it'd blow up in our faces. Vuc is 30 and just had one absolutely stellar season. What's to say that it'll stay that way? Well, I have confidence. He has a fantastic 3 ball and that's usually a great sign for players who age well. He doesn't seem as athletically-oriented, not to mention players seem to be sticking around longer than they used to.

I really like this trade and I'm excited to finally see a competitive Bulls, especially if we get Lonzo. With the fantastic 3 point shooting between Zach, Lauri, and Vuc, a pure point guard would be fantastic to well-round this team. Isn't it about time that we finally enjoyed some good basketball? I'm sick of waiting.

I especially like this trade because Vuc has a great contract compared to his output this yearAnd then... who knows, maybe we can attract a max free agent. Who's available? anyone?

Guys, this is what it's like to have a great front office. This is only year one... think about that, and compare it to Gar Pax. I don't even think that they made one pro-active trade to acquire a talent as good as Vucevic.
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

What are Forman and Paxson thinking right now seeing their guys get shipped out?

It happened another time for us. Derrick Rose.

And we had our only contender level team since Jordan. Don't forget about that when you besmirch the draft lottery.

At what point do you take yourself out of rebuild mode? At what point do you establish yourself as one of the up and coming playoff teams and take advantage of your big market and show you’re one star away from being a championship contender? There’s a reason why Orlando Magic’s of the world stay in the state they are in. Constantly hitting the reset button every 5 years because they aren’t in position to compete right now.. there are stars who demand trades every single year and every single year Chicago isn’t on their list. Why? Because the former management never was aggressive to build a playoff bound team with the mindset of saying “we aren’t realistically going to win anything so why go for it?”

Hopefully this way of thinking is DONE. Tired of drafting the Lauri’s Wendells Coby Whites of the world and passing on available talented stars. Focus on today stop thinking about 4 or 5 years down the line when we don’t even have a Lamelo Ball or Anthony Edwards or Luka etc.. to do that with..

We legitimately can enter the top 5 seed in the East with this move. This will look so good for pending FAs who are looking for a good team that’s right on the brink.

I couldn’t agree more it’s crazy how after all these failed draft picks in the last 20 years people are still trying to do the same thing.

Other than Golden State in recent years who is really won a championship off just draft picks?

How can people rather take a risk on a an unproven rookie then a guy that’s an all-star.

Exactly. I'm done praying for draft picks. All of our picks pretty much since the Butler draft 10 years ago have been bust after bust after bust. Enough already

EXACTLY!!! These pics are like lotto scratch offs... so you telling me if someone said here is $1000 right now or 2 scratch offs? Sure it’s possible to hit a big win on the scratch off but highly unlikely... I’m not big on picks in the last 5 years the it’s been at least a couple bust in the top 5
