The shocker of the day so far. Wow.

Feels... Fine? I feel like Gary Trent Jr. will get big FA offers.

I thought Powell was definitely in Toronto's future plans. That's the shocker for me.

I've been wanting Trent on the Bucks for a couple of seasons now. He'll be cheaper than Powell, don't you think?

Norm has a player option after this year. He's going to get paid, guess TOR feels like they can sign trent on the cheap and he's younger or else this makes no sense with no picks involved.

And also, thank you, Toronto. If he can't be a Buck, get him as far away from us as you can.

Yep lol out west to a non-contender is perfect IMO

I have Trent somewhere south of 15m per and Powell around 20m. Honestly can't keep up with all the trades.

Hill is 35 come playoffs and has played since Late January. On the other hand, a lot safer than trading depth for Lowry and paying him.

Seems like Austin Rivers buyout watch is on for Milwaukee after that trade.

Toronto wants to go ultra athletic and relying on Powell makes them lose that perpetual pressure defensively. His price tag keeps going up and I get why they didnt want to pay him 20m+. I do think Trent is going to get paid too, but at least he does what they want their guys to do.

I don't think we had a chance at Trent even if we were interested. Was probably treated as more than a 1ST in equivalent value.

Norm's going to getting paaaaaaid after this year. I get why Toronto did it. Wonder what they're long-range plans are.

Why, because they're giving up the 13th-15th pick?

Seems like a plus for Chicago to make sure this one conveys when you know it isn't going to be high.

The 23 pick is what I'm curious about. That's the big one.

Edit: I'll be surprised if they miss the playoffs. They're better than the Knicks and Hawks now.

Don't know why people keep assuming this. They're the same number of games out of the playoffs (1.5) as they are to the 7th overall pick. I guess some view Vucevic as this super impactful guy, but IMO he's a Sabonis/Julius Randle level dude. The absolute best case scenario (treadmill team? mid-40ish wins?) doesn't really warrant the risk of the absolute worst case scenario here (give up two Top-10 picks).

Agreed. Vuc is solid. A decent number low end 2 high end three. But how much better does he make chicago? They go from 10 seed to 7 or 8 seed? Plus it's the east .. outside the top 3 all those teams are treadmill. This doesn't make them a top 4 or 5 seed. It made them better but it's the nba if you're not in the top 4 you need to be acquiring assets to get there.

From Pors perspective though Trent is RFA and Powell is complete FA. I'd have thought you'd prefer to hold the RFA so you can resign easier, plus he's younger. On the other hand, they probably view Powell as better. But it's not by all that much where it swings your fortunes or anything.

I think Miami trades for Lowry and this is just them pressuring him to take a lesser deal. He really fits in to their culture.

And by that I mean he is a guy I regularly want to punch in the throat.

I hope George Hill is as good in the playoffs as he was last year.

Well hate to break it to you but I'd say the chances rivers is on OKCs roster by the end of the week is slim to none. Buy out coming.
