I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

And only 21 years old and already playing his 3rd NBA season. Signing Russell Westbrook did hurt him this season. Chicago is a good fit for him.

I’m awaiting more info/moves to convince myself I like the Vuc deal.

But I downright LOVE this deal. Huge steal to the point I’m confused as to Washington’s thinking. Maybe a trade detail is missing?

I loved Brown as a prospect and he was looking good last season. Not sure what happened this year as his numbers are crap, but I haven’t paid attention to the Wizards.

Either way, amazing zero risk/high reward potential trade considering what we gave up.

Verdict: Win

Trent Jr. got traded to Raptors for Powell. We can forget about him for Coby.

gafford vacillates between "solid enough bench energy big who knows his limits and plays to them" and "doesn't have his **** together enough to be worth playing," which i think tends to be a pretty thin margin in the nba generally speaking. people here are down on him right now but they've liked him in the past and i think he could turn out just fine

Haven't heard much this year, but last year I remember him being a very exciting/unexpected +contributor from SF position. I feel like eye test he's pretty long, strong solid body, good lateral movement ... so make up of a good one-on-one perimeter defender at SF? Any one with more insight to confirm or deny?

Based on box score last year (when he got real run starting a solid amount of games) he averaged 1.2 steals and 5.6 rebs in 25 min. I like those numbers for our current Bulls team.

We need more defenders on the perimeter, especially swingmen. Really it's just Pat; I have no idea if Lauri stays or not today, but if he does go it would signal to me that Pat may get more burn at PF (which could be a good pairing with Vuc). (Lonzo and his defense would really help transform a negative to a possible positive for this team on perimeter defense).

Brown at very least gives a good prototypical SF off bench (whereas Hutch is never available and Val is more gadget).

I like Gafford actually. Hope he develops into serviceable NBA big. Wagner is a one year shot and see what he's got. Never really see him get much run, but know he does some things ok, nothing special. I'm guessing Brown was the main reason for this.

Gafford and Hutch are both plus athletes even by NBA standards, but are currently worthless as players. If you can develop them maybe this works out for you.

I think "good lateral movement" might be a stretch.

He somewhat reminds me of Denzel honestly. Just a younger version who can hopefully develop and end up better physically.

I do remember Troy Brown has long had a good rep for having a good head on his shoulders since his days with the youth national teams.

Gafford will wow you guys with a few lobs and put back dunks. Then fold up like a lawn chair when there is any sort of contact with another big. He'll fall all over the damn floor like a big ass giraffe every other posession. And Hutchinson will never suit up. But good luck though. ITEMS SOLD AS IS. NO RETURNS

Seems like a meh for meh trade, and many Bulls fans are hyped that the incoming meh isn't our old meh.

Hutch was basura.

Gafford wasn't great, but I liked him. I think he still has room to grow learning especially learning from RoLo.

We got the best players in the deal, I'll take it.

I like that we're loading up on players with passing/IQ/fundamentals.

Trading out all the "defenders" (big quotations) who had less BB IQ than your local pee-wee YMCA team.

I can't even believe BoyGarPax believed in some kind of winning core with Dunn, Shaq, Carter, Hutchison and Gafford taking up half the roster (not even counting Felicio). It is entirely possible that if you played that 5-man unit, the Bulls would score under 40 points in a regular season NBA game, breaking the Bulls NBA-record from 1999 (they had 49 points against Miami, lowest score ever in shot clock era).
