Portland makes a good trade - getting Norm Powell for Gary Trent, Jr and Hood. But do they now need a small forward?

OKC may have too many picks. You can't draft and develop 34 players in 7 years. At some point, I think they will be compelled to sell some of those picks at a bargain rate. Teams will be able to trade down to OKC and get multiple picks at values better than Kevin Pelton's chart says.

I like the trade for Toronto too. Powell is almost 28 and Trent is 22. Trent looks like he'll be a reliable rotation player, if not a starter for the next 10 years. So now Toronto has a core of Van Vleet, Trent, Anunoby and Siakam, plus whatever they get from Lowry and their lotto pick. That's a nice foundation.

I don't understand the team...

Is it sell future players for a win now scenario with Bill and Russ ?
Is it sell Bill and Russ in order to build a future ?

If its not one of this two, where the team is heading ?
I don't understand it.

The team is attempting to both rebuild with youth and win-now with Beal and Westbrook simultaneously. It's a flawed strategy that will result in neither winning now nor developing young players.

Let's see what the buy-out market looks like. If we can convince Drummond, Aldrich, Otto Porter, etc to come here...
Doubt we can... but...what if?

He would be a great fit for Brooks. 3&D catch-and-shoot.

Yeah but if the deal was for let's say ojili and a couple of seconds for Bertans if he still fit in the ready of their trade exception you do that I think.

Which I think is the plan for okc. Make offers teams can't refuse and get 2 top 5 picks a year for 5 years.
