Woah... I did not see that coming... Not sure I love that deal... Dude's playing great, but isn't he essentially a rental?

I love the Blazers and have been watching your team all season long. I really hope you guys can make some noise.

With this trade, I think you guys get a clear upgrade and some serious pop with Powell. As a Raptors diehard, really sucks to see him go.

I'm not upset that we got Powell, he is a clear upgrade over GTJ. The problem however is that GTJ was playing off the bench without a clear way into the starting lineup due to Dame/CJ pairing. Powell will have the same issue.

All while having clear SF/PF/C issues, it just makes no sense to trade for Powell.

Powell can play some SF he's been starting next to midget guards so he has experience lol

Treat Norm right. He will give you 20 points a night. Hard worker. Good character off and on the court. He will be missed in Toronto. He saved our franchise.

Will need more time to process this...

We traded a SG/SF that's a defensive liability at the 3 and about to get paid for a SG/SF that's a defensive liability at the 3 and about to get paid. Powell is better, but he's also five years older. We didn't really address any positional needs with this trade. But on the bright side, Rodney Hood can no longer get minutes, hopefully opening up more playing time for Nassir Little.

I love the trade for the Raptors for GTJ will fit fine with their young core.

I don't understand it for Portland unless they fully intend to sign him in the summer of 2022. Something
has to give for Dame/CJ and now Powell (if they sign him) will be making $100 million.

One interesting observation: with Bjelica now gone to Miami and Portland now one player under the
league limit, does that mean Portland now will go after LA if he gets bought out?

I think you guys should reserve judgement until you see Powell play in the playoffs. Raptors love Playoff Powell. He shows up when you need someone to. He is also a Bucks killer should you meet them. He has that championship DNA.

You are not wrong LOL. I like Trent but I assume you traded him because he cannot start along Dame CJ. How the hell you are gonna play Norm?

Wow, Olshey must LOVE small SG's who can light it up. If you were seen to have issues paying GTj, Powell is looking for something in the $20MMyr range, do you think that's realistic to pay that along with CJ's salary ??

No one is mad about Powell as a player, or questioning his skill. The problem is convincing Powell to sign with us for less while also having him accept a bench role. IMO, that aint happening, and this trading potentially a long term asset for a 30 game rental, and one in a position we didn't really need to fill.

If Collins and possibly Kanter (you know, the one big that we have that has remained healthy) are let go - or maybe if Jones (our starting SF) opts out, yes. But why? Totally confusing move.

Powell has played 40%+ of his career minutes at SF and has a 6'11 wingspan. I think that has to be part of this play.

I also think PDX believes GTJ is going to get bigger offers than Powell this summer due to youth.

At the end of the day, I would have preferred to make a move for AG using GTJ and even a pick if needed since he is cost controlled for another year but I think GTJ may not have been as valuable as we have hoped due to the cap surplus in 2021.

McCollum+picks/prospects for Bradley Beal?

Dame/Powell/Beal/Covington/Nurkić

I can dream...
