Orlando Magic 2021-2022 Roster and Incoming Draft Picks

Post#1 » by Knightro » Thu Mar 25, 2021 5:18 pm

As of now the Magic have 10 players under contract for next season.

Ball Handlers (3)
-Fultz, Anthony, MCW

Small Wings (3)
-Harris, Hampton, Ross

Big Wings (2)
-Isaac, Okeke

Bigs (2)
Carter Jr., Bamba

2021 Draft Picks
Magic 1st - currently 4th
Bulls 1st - currently 10th
Magic 2nd - currently 34th

Future Draft Picks
All own picks 2022-2026
2023 Chicago 1st
2025 Denver 1st
2022 Indiana 2nd
2026 Milwaukee 2nd
TBD Boston 2nd
TBD Boston 2nd

They're going to be absolutely terrible next year, but at least they're going to be bad with youth instead of bad with veterans.

Is Otto Porter a free agent this offseason? Thought he was signed till next year for some reason.

The exit of Fournier and the expiry of Otto Porter Jr. will also make Orlando a big player in FA market with lots of young talent and picks.

Orlando will not be terrible for as long as many think. WeHam were always targeting 2021. They openly said it.

2 of those starters weren't very good and an all star center isn't great trade bait. Any expectation of getting a "top" prospect back was ill-advised to begin with. Getting some prospects plus picks is fine. Hampton and WCjr still nice prospects.

no one is coming here. we arent a destination place and we dont have a star player like Giannis to attract anyone.

I personally think we did okay. But the main things we need are for Fultz and Isaac to show significant improvements, it is their team now after all. We also need to hit on the picks that we have.

But I think we actually have solid young pieces to start a rebuild with now. We now have Isaac, Fultz, Anthony, Okeke, Carter Jr., Hampton, and Bamba as players under 23 to start with. not bad, in my opinion. It's a better place to start compared to when we traded Dwight.

I didn't value them that highly but we didn't even get a Fultz level prospect back... We got Fultz for a player that wasn't even in the league the next year...

they are 1.5 games out of the 8th spot, 3 games out of the 4th spot. add Vuc to them, and with Charlotte losing Ball and Atlanta imploding and I would place money that they make the playoffs, so no lottery pick from them.

It'll be nice if we end up with 2 top 10 picks in a loaded draft.

Can someone break down the salary cap situation this upcoming offseason?

Can we be a big player on Free Agent market?

I want to know the protection on the Denver pick. In four years Denver could easily still be a contender, but that's a long time away too. If it's only a 3-5 protected pick, there's at least a possibility of getting lucky with a lottery pick.

Jokic + cast will never be that bad. and Jokic only 26, so he wont be dropping off anytime soon

If their core is still in place and healthy, then absolutely. But four years there's also time for players to get upset for whatever reason and want to leave or maybe there's a year where there are a lot of injuries. I'm just saying if there's little protection, that at least leaves open the possibility of getting something really valuable.

the way they have been hitting their draft picks. that team will still be a playoff team and that pick wont be worth much
