I didn’t bring up PPG, that was their premise for attacking me, so I explained why it’s not unique/or special in this year of inflated scoring AND efficiency. It’s nice, he’d help most teams, but he’s far from a star player. Also don’t need to use the most extreme opposite in Lou. League wide efficiency is high right now.

League average TS% is 57.1%, Powell is 7.4% higher than league average, I’m still not understanding why you are downplaying it. And I can understand that PPG wasn’t brought up by you, but still, he’s a nice acquisitionm what’s the problem?

This started when I basically said trade deadline is weak if the headliners are Powell and Drummond. Do you disagree with that statement? I think Powell is just fine as a role player. I think there is a difference between me saying it’s a weak deadline market relative to the past and ripping Powell. I’m just saying he’s not moving the needle a lot for anyone probably.

That I can understand, I think Powell can move the needle for a team depending on the team. An efficient bench scorer that maintains that efficient scoring can be what pushes one team over another team that is generally considered fairly evenly matched with them. Generally at his level of efficiency, it’s unlikely he will give up more than he’s giving you when paired with the right lineups.

Heat got rid of 2 big men that can't shoot 3's (Harkless/Silva) clearing a roster spot in the process.

Sorry - who was the headliner last year..? Drummond? Wiggins? What year did the trade deadline really move the needle for you? I'm curious what big ticket names you are expecting to see on the move.

THT is an okay prospect who will never turn into a star and the front office is buying into the LA inflation and holding him out from a deal that would give them the best chance to win a title this season, all the while taking for granted LeBron's last few good years.

Years from now I bet people will look back and laugh at the fact that the Lakers refused to trade Tucker and then watched Lowry help the Clippers beat them in the playoffs. Remember when Kuzma almost held up the trade for Anthony freaking Davis? How does that look now?

Both better than nothing.

But if Maxey+Thybulle were really on the table than Masai got too cute demanding two 2nd rounders on top of it.

I think you actually argued against your own point. Kuzma is a positive player on a controlled contract for a contender now, entirely homegrown. He's actually underpaid right now. I trust the Lakers' player development staff. Guys like Phil Handy would work wonders with THT. If we were just reckless about including young guys, you'd be left with an underwhelming present and 0 future.

THT in Toronto or LA has a great chance to reach his potential.

I'm not gifting someone Lowry for a playoff run if they aren't willing to pay for it. We'll keep him, enjoy his last days...still try and make the playoffs.
