I don't know enough about Brown and Wagner, but the fact that we were able to get anything for Gafford and Hutchison in a package deal is remarkable to me.

Willkommen bei den Bulls Mo! I like this trade. The Bulls got two players with more upside and basketball iq.

Huh?

Hutch is not even playing, if you were looking at our roster and told "you can have any one of these rookie contract guys" would you really take the guy who doesn't dress for games? I mean I guess he has another year on his contract but seriously?

Or Washington’s GM stinks, which this and the Westbrook trade suggests is likely is the case. Or AK said “the offer is Hutch, not Denzel, take it or leave it.”

Well yeah there's certainly the chance that Washington is being run by a doofus, I'll give you that.

Any ideas why he can't shoot? His stroke doesn't look all that bad, but his numbers definitely are.

Consistency really, he brings the ball from a low angle so it takes a little time but honestly, there should be no reason he shouldn’t be a 38-40 percent three point shooter. His spot up numbers are actually not bad.

no dude. in a 3 and D league, wagner is 10x more valuable on a contender. that being said, wagner is not good compared to AG.
IDK why washington keeps dumping good players. first it was otto. hope they keep swindling more.

Scott Brooks.

He has no system. No environment for young guys to improve.

Tommy Sheppard was Grunfeld's #2 for 16 years.

That should tell you everything.

He needs the ball in his hands to play effectively and is best served being a point forward - that didn't fit with Beal and Westbrook

I think what excites Wiz fans is getting Gafford and the two extra years of control on the cheap.

lol. you have an option on a worthless contract. you guys got fleeced.

Gafford is definitely going to look better in DC than he did for you guys. He is going to get more minutes and Westbrook/Beal will help get him some easier looks at the basket with dunks

Wagner can really play. Love this deal... frees us up a bit to trade Lauri if we want to.

Just wait until he fumbles it or gets outrebounded by a guard. He stinks man. Good luck.

These are the kinds of small back-end trades I wanted for 15 years during the GarPax nightmare.

Happened once in the entire tenure, if I'm remembering correctly (the Hinrich/Holiday swap, which I liked a lot). And of course Justin, despite looking like one of the better players to close the season, was pointlessly tossed a few months later with an expiring Rose for albatross Lopez and Grant. (Before being resigned, and then dumped again after a decent season - ugh)

He currently stinks. But he’s not a closed book. As much as I think the Bulls stole this trade at gunpoint, the reality is that Hutch and Gaff are excellent NBA athletes that can still be developed. My assumption is Washington was looking for an athletic upgrade. It’s the only way this deal makes any sense.

Oh baby. This is a nice damn trade. Love both players and they should get some run on the 2nd unit. Nice scoring punch added to the bench.

Hutch has HORRIBLE body control. I really don't care about his highlights finishing over Mountain West guys in college. I've said this for years, said it when he was drafted. He's a mediocre athlete at best by NBA standards and most importantly he has zero body control and can't finish over guys like in college and it kills his efficiency on drives.

Oh, and did I mention he's a three that can't shoot or dribble for a lick? he stinks. oh, and also he has motivation issues on top of that.

I hate to see Gaff go, just because I like his energy, but obviously the trade makes the Bulls better.

Wagner is expiring, and we obviously weren't going to pick up Hutch's option.
I think this is basically a Gafford for Troy Brown trade with salary equalizers.

They might have wanted an entertaining lob finisher for Westbrook & Beal, and Gafford certainly is that.

I assume there just isn't any room for Brown even long term due to Russ/Beal/Rui being the perimeter.

This is a good trade for both. I think Wagner is a better player than what he has been able to prove so far (he isn't really a good fit for the Washington system), and Brown is a solid 2nd unit player. Gafford and Hutch are athletic, but they need a team where they can learn to use their tools; I think Washington is a good place for them.
There are three kinds of people: Those who can count, and those who can't.

Awww.................yeah.

I recently said that I was losing interests quickly in the Bulls, welp, this day has brought my interests in this team back up.

Somewhere, Zach Lavine is smiling.
