Could be true, but feels like a lot of his effectiveness protecting the rim is down, his left hand is late to contest all the time when someone drives to that side but most notably, he is the only salary slot that you can use to make any kind of deal unless you are breaking up Giannis, Midds, Jrue.

I think Portis level of play and Giannis starting to spend more time at the 5 have a lot to do with it as well.

That's all true, but I think he remains significantly more valuable than Schroder for example.

yep... this is what im getting at. and thats not even to mention it needs to be a clear upgrade to take a shot at somebody else in that lockerroom. we know what we have in lopez and thats a really nice chess piece that helps the lockerroom and if he goes out for a different really nice chess piece i just dont see the point especially if it isnt a big. tucker and/or portis does NOT make lopez expendable imo

Was hoping Bucks would find a way to snag Rondo.

Yea i'm not a Lopez hater. But I also do see the two years left on the contract as a possible issue and a factor in these discussions. Plus of course he's the only salary we can trade. Still, I think comes down that whatever we do now would likely hurt this year so might as well ride with Brook and then look at things in the offseason in regards to hopefully getting some value out of him/contract before he possibly regresses a lot and then all of a sudden we're paying out to dump the contract (like we see too many times here).

Well, that is why I come back to my point about his salary slot. If for discussion, someone wants to talk about what it would take to get a player making 16M, he basically needs to be part of the deal.

I'm not saying I would do that deal, more having a discussion that he needs to be the piece moved to do it, and that might mean Giannis being the 5 to compensate.

Hopefully Fournier plays tomorrow and we still blow them out. Or win by one. Just win.
