Strange trade. Rondo must not have been fitting in too well. I don't think that Lou W is going to do very much. We'll see

What? Lou Williams can really really score. Also a 38% three point shooter. Can carry you for stretches in a playoff series. Numbers were down because Clips have 2 elite scorers and just a ton of guys. Lou also adds tons of playoff experience and he’s healthier than Rondo.

If you say so. Or he's washed. Clips, a title contender paid and gave up picks to get rid of him. As I said, we'll see.
If he helps the Hawks more than Rondo would have than nice trade. He might add a better scoring punch to the second team but he might not contibute to Gallo, Heurter, Bogs and/or other second teamers to getting theirs

Re: Rondo traded - done deal
The only question I need answered after this trade is how close is Dunn to coming back? If Dunn is close I have no problem with this trade. Rondo sucked and was always hurt.

He can score, but since at least 4 years, your team scores less than the opponent while he's scoring.
Schlenk really helping them on this one, because Rondo voice will be different in a contender team and he's one of the few the LAC players would hear seriously

Not to shabby for you guys. Rondo is only good during playoffs and ATL didn’t want to wait and test that theory.
Lou is still good but older now. The Clippers sign Luke Kennard and he got most of the minutes where Lou seemed to be in Lue’s doghouse. Don’t worry because Lou can still score off the bench. Lou’s problem is no defense.
At least you get 2 late SRPs and some cash. Not bad for overpaid Rondo who is injured and only wants to play during playoff time. You might miss him during the summer but overall not a bad return.

I can't believe we got not 1 but 2 second round picks for Rondo.

The picks makes the trade sound decent but only the Lakers pick has the potential to land in the 30s. I mean Rondo sounded good in theory but he's made for a vet team that can compete. Him trying to lead young 25 and under guys just didn't work.
Lou more thank likely be consistently productive for 15 or more minutes per game and help ease the load on Trae if nothing else scoring and depth wise.

Re: Rondo traded - done deal
It's not so much that we got 2 2nds picks - it's more so that we didn't have to give up a pick(s) to dump his contract for next season. When we signed him I was hoping his 2nd year wasn't fully guaranteed or a team option.CP War Hawks wrote:The picks makes the trade sound decent but only the Lakers pick has the potential to land in the 30s. I do have concerns with Lou but I hope he's productive for the ream and it translate to wins. It's easy to put him in garbage time and let him.go wild when the team is losing.
He needs his minutes but in expect Nate to figure it out.

It's still good to have another player, but before finding how to play Lou for 15 minutes, I hope they can manage first how to play use correctly Bogi, then only give Lou minutes where it's needed
