I sincerely hope we gave up nothing of value.

Raise your hand if you read that and thought to yourself, "What position does that guy play again?"

undersized 31 yr old PG we don't need so annoying
Wanamaker has served as the Warriors' backup point guard for most of the season, but his efficiency has fallen off mightily compared from the 2019-20 campaign, when he was a member of the Celtics. Heading into the break, Wanamaker had converted at a lowly 35.8 percent from the field and 23.2 percent from three-point range. Wanamaker's steep downturn in shooting has resulted in him losing his rotation spot to rookie second-round pick Nico Mannion

I doubt we gave anything for him, we just took him because none of our G league guys could play and if Devonte gets hurt then we have to get really goofy just to find someone to bring the ball up.

EDIT:

Also maybe this is at play:

All I wanted this deadline was for us to not mortgage the future for the present, and not make any ridiculously dumb moves. This is a pointless move that I assume costs us nothing, therefore it's fine with me. Just seems like a veteran option if Graham or Rozier goes down between now and the end of the season.

Edit: If Mitch milked a pick out of the Dubs while grabbing his 'break in case of injury' 3rd string vet PG then :D

Mitch specifically saved a roster spot and cap space, have to think he planned to use it to get some draft capital.

What? How did we need another guard, or am I missing something?

Sounds like a lawyer name. " Hey I'm Brad Wanamaker and I wanna make sure YOU get the compensation YOU deserve! Call 1-800-666-666 today! "

I'm sure we got paid to take him into our space to save Golden State on their tax bill.

Most likely we traded them a fake secound round pick that is top 59 protected for Wannamaker and a future real 2nd round pick from GS.

It's solid IMO. He's got relevant playoff experience, and if any of our guards go down he's there to be serviceable. If we got some draft compensation as well, then it's very nice. Has to be better than simply doing nothing...but obviously we wanted to address the C position more than anything.

Really seems like a tax-saving move for GSW, probably got a 2nd for our trouble.

Well crap so literally just a body. Clearly Mitch did not go to the Presti school of asset maximization.

That REALLY doesn't make sense... this takes up more than half their remaining capspace and the open roster spot. They're not even gonna *try* to sign a buyout big?

Saw the name and immediately thought he was a 7 foot white dude from Purdue.
