Any idea about timelines for buyouts to happen?

If we get Teague we can have a full All-Star line-up :D

Oh. That's kind of bad though? Someone will probably claim him for his full salary before he clears waivers, and the Bucks can't fit his full salary under the tax threshold so they're liable to pass.

He's on a minimum deal so we could claim him, as could anybody else who wouldn't trigger the hard cap. Salary would be prorated just as if we'd signed him.

Salaries from waiver claims are prorated? I thought it was only guys who sign for the vet minimum during the season who get prorated. Teague would be on the same contract that he signed before the season for a full vet min salary. Why wouldn't that be his cap number as well?

The Bucks could trade a pick for him, but his cap figure would put them in the tax. I'm assuming they will be avoiding that.

The media is hype about LMA but shouldn't it be pointed out that the spurs are in the playoff race and are like 'yeah we're good just releasing him'.

Yeah I think you're right about that. The actual cash you pay the waiver guy is prorated but the cap hit is the whole contract. Now if he clears waivers then it's the prorated amount that hits the cap.

Also waiver claims go by reverse order of record. They almost certainly aren't getting him if Orlando waives him.

Glad it’s been an entertaining deadline with lots of moves!

That’s especially since Lowry to a contender was the biggest potential trade that could have shaken up the power structure.

I don’t mean to bet against Riley but I suspect getting Oladipo’s bird rights and maintaining cap flexibility for other targets this offseason was more front of mind than hoping this puts them over the top for a ring. Even if Miami is high on Dipo he seems like a consolation prize vs Lowry.

I think I was confused about that. Tax is determined by total team salary on the last day of the season and I think claimed players add the entire salary, not the prorated portion, to team salary.

It's definitely true that of contracts that are signed during the season, only the minimum contracts prorate.

What assets do we have? It would be ballsy to trade Donte given how he's played so far this year and we don't have a whole lot else other teams would probably value. That being said, this deadline feels very meh to me so I don't feel all that bad right now. Hopefully we get someone who can help a bit off the trash heap and keep gelling as a team. I'd love to get Teague if that's still possible, but whatever. Even Rivers has had some decent games and we wouldn't be asking these guys to do a whole lot. Just please be better than Augustin was.

I was talking about buyouts. The big names will go to LA or Brooklyn

I think there’s a better chance of Jabari looking like a nose tackle than winning anything in basketball.

LOL at Houston. They got NOTHING for Harden. An expiring AB and Olynyk? Good lord.

ESPN loves the Rondo add. He’s the missing piece to their championship. Okey Dokey .
