Guys

I liked the Fournier trade but can someone who is more in the know than me please explain why he traded Thies? I know he is a FA at end of year but still makes no sense to me.

Pls help me understand this.

Thx

We aren't looking to trade Kemba for nothing. That's dumb. We are looking to get him healthy (which he is) and playing well (which he isn't).

Hopefully Fournier is a player who can make shots and open up the lane for Kemba.

Kemba sucks and will not look good on this team until he at least comes off the bench

Time out. Time out time out.

Thompson sucks. And he's on protocol. What type of workload are yall expecting rw3 to take? The dude has more ailments than my dead grandmother, he can't handle 30mim a night. He's Gunna end up in the AARP group that can't play back to backs.

What am I missing?

Hmmm... I think we could still cut Kornet and sign a buyout guy to rest-of-season minimum while still avoiding tax. Otto Porter Jr? KO?

We needed to move his five million dollar salary for Mo Wagners 2 million dollar salary in order to get below the tax line.

Stevens better come up with a defensive scheme that will not only cover for Kemba and Fournier but also Thompson who is much worse at defense than Theis.

We already know he won't.
And nevermind the Nets,
we can't cover the Grizz.

That said, if we defend with purpose and energy we can compete with anyone.

The same applies on offense if we play with pace and move the ball.

For the remainder of the year, I'd like to see more emphasis on playing the right way. Let's hammer that home first.

Thank you for saying this. Zarren is widely regarded as a financial guru, and I'm sure he knows all the angles. If Zarren knows, Danny and Co. know. While there are members of this forum that are knowledgeable about the NBA cap, do any of them know more than Zarren?

2. Kelly Olynyk, Houston — Surely the Rockets have no need for him as they take aim on tankapalaooza, especially since he has an expiring deal but is unlikely to command attention in the sign-and-trade market. But Olynyk is a legitimately useful player who played a major role on an NBA Finals team a year ago, and his pick-and-pop game and proclivity for drawing charges make him a plus big off the bench for teams needing more offensive punch.

One Captain Obvious place to watch is Boston, where Olynyk began his career, and where starting center Daniel Theis was just traded to the Bulls
.

Do we even have a roster spot?

Celtics have a few players they could waive

Without considering the money it's kind of hard for us to offer anything worth reading on the player/roster development side. How can any of us intelligently discuss roster moves without considering the financial implications behind them?

That’s fine but sitting here and saying how **** we are over the next x amount of years without knowing what’s gonna happen this offseason is wrong. Literally ainge and zarren understand what needs to be done and I’m sure the move they made today were done with that in mind.

The roster is also set this season and the player development comes down to giving guys on the roster minutes- Langford, Pritchard, rob etc. not really much to figure out there right ? Like they have to play now as it’s a number crunch. We literally just sent 3 guys out to avoid the tax and play them.

Intelligently discuss the roster- sure, but saying how **** they without knowing what’s going to happen is putting the cart way before the horse

As soon as they pass physicals and get to where the team is. So probably not tomorrow.

Hate NBA salary cap. Prevents teams from getting better and forces super teams.

Like Smart but Ainge puts him on a level with the Jays that he’s just not on, gives him to big of a head. Prob a good chance they could have had Vuc if he was on the table. Another missed opportunity by Ainge.
