Who Leads In Scoring?

Post#1 » by The Real Dalic » Thu Mar 25, 2021 11:42 pm

With the departure of Vuc, Fournier, and AG, there will clearly be a scoring/usage void now. Who do you guys think will end up being the guy to take over and lead the team in scoring the rest of the way.

If you want to also include who you WANT to take over for the rest of the season, you can include that in a post if you want.

I personally think Ross will be chucking like he's never chucked before and lead the way in scoring. But I actually think Carter Jr. and Anthony will be right behind as soon as Anthony is healthy.

The one I would like to try to take over is Anthony first and foremost, Hampton after him, Carter Jr. after both of them.

I mean if he's healthy enough to play Ross is going to shoot like 20 times night. There's almost no way it isn't him.

I think it could be very interesting because 1. He can't shoot every time. 2. Will he even be starting? He's always come off the bench for us and seems to prefer that. 3. Even if he did shoot a lot, there will be plenty of shot attempts others will need to take to fill the void for the 50+ shots that Vuc, Fournier, and AG would have otherwise taken.

Also, who would you like to take the reigns, realistic or not. Interested to hear who people are most excited to see step up.

Ross seems like the most capable and poised to capitalize on the newly available shots. Otto or Harris, if they play, could also put up some empty stats. After that, I think it's a toss-up between Cole, MCW, and Carter. Maybe Chuma if he views the trades as a greenlight to be less deferential with the ball.

I have a sneaking suspicion we're going to see a whole heck of a lot more Dwayne Bacon chucking than anyone wants to see.

I expect Ross to average over 20 ppg for the rest of the season, but I hope Chuma becomes more aggressive, and we get to see Bamba star in a much heavier role offensively, along with seeing what Hampton can do with the ball in his hands.

Definitely. I see around 16 ppg from Bacon the rest of the way. He and Ross about to lead the tank like we've never seen before.

Bacon licking his lips right now.

“It’s time to get sizzlin’!”

Drives from the perimeter into a congested paint, throws up a heavily contested floater-layup-thing.

Clifford nods in approval. Scribbles on paper.

It's not going to be the players you want, it's going to be Ross or Bacon. Maybe Harris too

Somewhere in there is a joke about Bacon bringing home the bacon (higher draft pick)

Absolutely Ross and I think he'll be starting when healthy. I think they kept him just to keep the scores somewhat respectable while they lose.

Only other possibility would be Harris if he comes back and has freedom to chuck away.

I wanted to bump this thread just because we were mostly all wrong so far, in a great way.

So far Ross has not been the primary option, nor the leading scorer on this team. It's actually been WCJ and Bamba when WCJ goes out. Actually very surprised and happy to see the way things have been turning out since the trade. Even Cole and Okeke seem to be scoring/FGA leaders for this team.

So many of us expected to see 20 attempts each for Ross and Bacon. That hasn't really been happening too much. Don't get me wrong, those two still get their shots up, but not to the extent that I thought. It's been great to see the young guys step up!

It's gonna be a tough race between BBD and Afflalo.

Thanks for this! Pretty balanced scoring. The unfortunate thing is that we obviously don't have a go to scorer. Hopefully that changes with the draft and the return of Fultz and Isaac.

But I'm happy with those kinds of numbers for our rookies and Carter. The hope is that they can keep improving from there.

Bamba would likely have higher than that if he can stay healthy and play more minutes.
