Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
I guess there wasn't much demand for Oubre.
So maybe they can low-ball him in the offseason if he doesn't get many offers.
Obviously he's capable of having offensive explosions. But would not pay him more than $15 million a year. Still if he's a starter, able to average over 15 PPG, he's going to get offers from someone for more than that.

Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
He's shooting 43.8/30.6/70.2.
All below his career averages.
KO has to hope teams think he can play like he did for the Suns that last season, which were high watermarks for his career.
Have to look around the league to see which teams would need wings who can play 25-30 minutes.
Some team may bite.
If the NBA gets anywhere near the $75 billion TV deal that they're looking for, teams will raise spending. That is triple the value of the TV contract they have now, which was already a huge increase from the previous one.

Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
Just no market out there for him.
The best Myers could probably get for Kelly was a much worse player on a longer contract than an expiring. We’ve just seen some small cost saving moves, so maybe we have just seen a shift in moneybags Lacob and co., willing to let the salary slot go and let him walk?

Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
Epic fail not trading him. And it will be another fail if they sign him to a big deal but they might be forced to because the other options all suck.

Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
Curry will stay regardless. But it's awful that we've basically killed our option with Oubre's salary slot. Just bad management. Going into this summer, with him most likely walking, we're left a small Looney salary slot, or we're gonna make a big move using Wiseman and/or the Minny pick along with Wiggins and/or Dray's salary slots. That's our options going forward in terms of significant moves.
Or we just stay pat and gamble on the thought that we can compete with Steph/Wiggins/Draymond/Wiseman as our core before Klay get healthy. But we'd have to depend on the Minny pick, Poole, MLE, Paschall, and the rest of the roster to help lead us to contention. So doubtful about this strategy.

Oubre will get that 4/80 deal then myers will try to trade him again to keep that slot open. (If thats possible)Or they look to trade wiggins with 2 years left.

That’s kinda what you have to put out there after you dangle a guy and then can’t get a deal you like and then have to try to convince him to sign at a discount/short deal to be a 6th man next year or live with a >15mm cap cut

Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
My guess is teams demanded that Warriors attach assets, probably draft picks, because the players on the roster are not viewed as assets by other teams.
I think the offseason will tell the tale. If they turn these draft assets and either KO or Wiggins into something, great.
If not, they missed a chance to improve the roster for next year. And the roster is in big need of improvemnent.

Either they will let him go for nothing or wiggs will accommodate and come off the bench to appease oubre.
And he wants to get paid.

Re: Trade Oubre PRONTO.
Oubre is a UFA. He will either need to agree to a bench role, take a bigger money deal from us (then sulk for the full contract) or go elsewhere. Wiggins is a better player in every way and he's just alright. Wiggs is also worse in the second unit than Oubre.Crazy-Canuck wrote:

Amazing. We trade for him, he's eh, we toss around the idea of trading him to preserve the salary slot, choose not to trade him in the hopes of re-signing him and preserving the salary slot, and he pretty much gives us the middle finger after not communicating with him on the day of the deadline.
Kudos!

Because he won't talk about his next possible contract with reporters, that's giving the middle finger to everyone? That's an odd way to look at it.

He’s going to try to get the biggest contract he can, as would most if not all pro athletes.
