1. Otto Porter, Magic — It’s possible Orlando values Porter’s Bird rights because the Magic could be in position to re-sign him as their starting small forward, but if not, Porter would be hugely attractive to a number of contending teams as a smart combo forward who can shoot. He would pretty clearly be the best player on the board if he’s let go after being traded from the Bulls on Thursday.

Khem Birch and James Ennis were also on this list. I am guessing we couldn't find any takers. Jeff Teague was told not to report will be waived.

Exactly, let s see if he is healthy, if he is, he can be a great part of this team

No offense, maybe you are talking about the hype from Bulls board, but they are not winning the East Year One, at least imo.

I think he meant clicking individually

Yeah thats what i got too. This season both Vuc and Lavine have been tearing it up in terms of stats.

That doesn’t mean they will continue so by playing together. Both guys must accept some sort of usage drop. Vooch will have to mainly because it’s not his team like the Magic were. It will be interesting to see how much value Vooch can bring to the Bulls on a smaller usage rate in a new offense.

Correct. We will find out soon if ghis will lessen their stats because they have someone to share the ball with or increase it because they wknt be guarded that much anymore due to having another threat in the team.

Just finished the Simmons tradeline pod, && he and Russilo both stated that we got 110 cents on the dollar for Vuc. I tend to agree with them as well that the more important pick is the one that comes back to us in 2023.

We're going to need some lottery luck this time around. No doubt. Luck we weren't afforded during the last rebuild.

Who do you think we take with the 6th pick in the draft?

Depends on who we take with our own draft pick at 1.

Since the consensus is Cade at one, I will go with the assumption that we take him first and then I would take Moody at 6.

One thing worth noting is that the Magic now have an open roster spot after sending out 5 players (Vucevic, Aminu, Fournier, Gordon, Clark) and only bringing on 4 (Harris, Hampton, Carter, Porter)

Wonder if they'll sign someone from Lakeland to provide some depth at the 4?

Yup.. we take Cade and at 6 we take Moody since you can never have enough scorers

Fivethirtyeight updated predictions have the Magic finishing 4th & Bulls finishing 8th this season.

They’re pretty optimistic with our record, finishing 8-20 for the last 28 games. With our schedule I doubt it.

If the Bulls give us the 8th pick I will run the streets wearing nothing but my Dwight Howard jersey.

Anything inside the top 10 would be huge, especially in this draft.

Now the Magic just need to commit to getting the best odds on their pick. Sit out players with “injuries”, commit “questionable” coaching decisions when having leads in games, the usual.

I’m surprised Ennis is still on the roster. Maybe he’s viewed as a good vet to keep around for the rebuild.

Its possible he wouldn't waive his NTC. He wanted to be somewhere where he would get playing time and this is probably one of the few places he would.

I hope you guys are really ready for next 2 -5 years enduring to watch product where young players play for nothing but their own stats with one eye on exit doors.

When i started reading this forum in 2014,Magic were 2 years into a rebuild and whole board had collective crying and moaning about "too painful, too long" rebuild.

This is like devorce in late 40s. You get exited about all new possibilities... Than you figure you are 48, half of your paycheck is tied with kids and there is nothing exiting about dating any more.

Hell, i'll make prediction, i'll put it in my sig -by the 2023 most fanbase will be upset and angry how rebuild is going.

Huh? The Chicago picks are top 4 protected and the Nuggets pick is in 2025 and top 5 protected.

Ooof!
I stand corrected

......

Seems we are in a position of power in the draft, no?

Right now I see Jalen Green-at-4 and Usman Garuba-at-12. The Magic gets its new starting-SG prospect and an upgrade for Birch with starter's upside. Orlando might actually play 3 rookies next year, so Drew Timme is a real possibility with the Magic's SRP. Orlando will not play 4 rookies, so the Boston pick would them be used on a player to develop at Lakeland: a Daishen Nix type.

Starting night:
Anthony/Hampton/Carter-Williams
Harris/Green/vet
Isaac/Ross/Bacon
Carter/Okeke/Garuba
Bamba/vet/Timme

It is better than The Process, but that team will struggle to win 30 games.

With all this youth-development, it is unclear that the Magic would make a large FA move this off-season or next.

Houston Harden trade has to be worst superstar trade in last 15 years.
I get bunch of picks but they probably could have had Ben Simmons.... but ended up with Avery Bradley and Olynyk

Just curious, when we had our rebuild, who were the holdovers like JI Fultz and Ross? Didnt we clean house like bye2x meer, JJ, Bbd, etc?

cuz if so.. and depending how weak the east is next season, I could see us fighting for a playin spot with Fultz JI and Tross plus Cade (lol) I can dream
