How the **** do they give this guy up for Hutchinson and Gafford??? Oh, and they also actually gave us cash for it!!!!!!!

They're bad. Like, REALLY bad!!!! Even if TBJ regressed a bit, there's a good player here, they should have tried harder to develop him.

He looks like who we wanted Hutch to become.

I just watched his highlights and was thinking the same damn thing. He's long, functionally athletic and seems to have a pretty advanced handle. I have no idea if he's any good or not but he showed me more in highlights than hutch ever has, who was at best was a straight line driver, never a guy that could break down a defense.

I actually believe his shot is salvageable, unlike Hutchinson's. And he's 2 years younger!!!!
Seriously, what a **** steal. Even if it doesn't pan out, we lost absolutely nothing in this deal.

Friendly reminder Lavert was on the board and should have been the pick.

Measured extremely well, at 6'6 in shoes with a 6'11 wingspan and a 210 pound frame. Big enough to play the small forward position in the NBA, even though he has plenty of guard skills. -Swiss army knife who can do a little bit of everything -Unselfish, high IQ passer. Reads the floor and finds the open man -Continues to show flashes as a shooter. Has a nice looking stroke, both spotting up and off the dribble. Very good in rhythm -Shows some potential operating in the post -Competitive defender. Instinctive getting in the passing lanes and crashing the glass. Shows the potential to guard any of the backcourt positions, or even some power forward at times -Highly articulate and intelligent. Knows exactly who he is as a player. Seems very humble despite being considered an elite-level prospect for years seemingly -One of the youngest players in this class. Won't turn 18 until the end of JulyWEAKNESSES -Just an OK athlete. Lacks a degree of quickness creating off the bounce, and explosiveness as a finisher around the basket -Doesn't get very low with the ball, lacks some wiggle to his game in the half-court. Can't always get by smaller defenders -Has a ways to go to become a more consistent shooter. Doesn't always shoot it the same ayOUTLOOK Brown had a solid week of practices, but was somewhat quiet in the actual game. He's a very well-known commodity at this point who impresses with his versatility, competitiveness and IQ, even if he doesn't share the same upside as some of the more highly touted members of this class. - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Troy-Brown-83152/ ©DraftExpress

He wants to guard PGs....this may be the PG we seek to pair with Lavine in the back court

What the hell happened to this guy this season? Last year he looked like he was really coming along and about to break out and then this season has been such a disappointment. He went from around 15, 8 and 4 per 36 to dropping off in nearly everything significantly this season. Was one of the most improved players in the league last season and just dropped off a cliff this season. Also went from being one of the best steals guys in the league to barely getting any. Did he get hurt or something? His shooting %'s just fell off the board too.

We should get 1-2 more wins just by not having Brown abuse the Bulls anymore.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers, but Troy Brown was one of the guys I reaallllly liked in 2018. I just checked my old big board from the draft forum and I had him 12th.

It should go without saying, I'm stoked with this deal.

Obviously he has had a quiet year through a lack of opportunity, but if you look at the year before, (rounding up) it was 14/8/4 per 36, and the 3pt shooting was improving to near average levels.

He has a great feel for the game, is a smooth athlete, and a solid defender. If he keeps improving his shot he's going to be awesome. At worst, he's a solid rotation player. I don't know what motivation the Wiz had for doing this other than not wanting to pay him into his second contract.

Hutch never did much to inspire here, I think we can all agree he wasn't much of a loss. Gafford played his role well but didn't have much further upside. This is a steal imo.

The fact we got Theis for Wagner is even better. Great vet who will fill some areas of need in our front-court rotation was just a savvy move. Good **** AK.

He seems to really punish teams with sloppy handles...oh hey half his highlights are against the Bulls...that's weird.

Troy Brown Jr. apparently also play point guard in HS. Starting to see the trend with AKs picks... wings with good size and length, defensive capability and potential, played point guard at some point of their young career. The only thing missing from Brown is a reliable 3-point shot. Other than that he's basically like smaller version of Pat. Brown is a 2/3, and Pat is a 3/4. IMO it's clearly an upgrade from Hutch. It will be refreshing to go from seeing a lot of slomo Valentine, to a bulldog like Brown. We needed toughness on this team and we got it, in This and Brown.

Troy Brown Jr. should be a designated defensive stopper. Let him quietly develop. Just like how we let it be with Jimmy Butler.

Can Troy Brown Jr. play point guard next to Zach LaVine?

He's more likely the point forward or point shooting, getting about 20-30 mins per game at both backup sg/sf. He could possibly challenge Pat Williams for mins if Pat isn't bringing 110% every night. I love this pickup

But Promise man. Why would you want Lavert when Promise is available.

To be fair, Lavert was a major question mark going into that draft. But yeah, the old regime completely botched that pick.
