Another great reason for trading Gordon now.

Exactly and for a good return.

I really like Hampton.

Yeah, I remember you really liking him. He really liked us too. OKC and ORL were his top 2 desired destinations.

I feel cautiously optimistic about him because he has a lot going for him. You just never know with young players. He could be absolutely fantastic or he might be Dante Exum. Love his ability to be a secondary playmaker. I'm hoping for Suggs or Green in the draft, but Hampton's versatility to play PG or SG will get him minutes which makes him a promising piece to keep around and cheer for.

I wanted Jaden McDaniels from MIN since they were interested in Gordon, but Hampton is a good return.

He did like Orlando. You did have that thread up with our big boards.

The Draft will be fun with a high first and probably a mid-first. Hampton's potential is like you say although they might have traded for also another Slam-Dunk Champion. I think Hampton is going to be a lot more than that though.

This is the trade I’m down on...when I heard Evan to BOS for two 2nds (in the 50’s), I figured it had to be Part 1 of AG to BOS. I know he’s expiring but ugggh. Like others have said, I’m surprised we couldn’t pull Langford or Nesmith, maybe by adding Birch (who would help BOS)...then we offset cap relief with Harris. I’m not unrealistic about expiring Evan value, but this seems light and maybe same deal with a worse team would’ve been doable to have legit picks. Evan would help ANY team -even as a rental

With the Evan trade, it's basically get whatever you can vs getting nothing.. I have to believe this was the BEST offer available

Just wanna chime in. I wanted Hampton before Cole as well. Especially since we weren't moving up. I still felt we needed a SG more than a PG anyway.

So, happy surprise we got both Cole and RJ. It somewhat balances the downer of getting back Harris instead of a better deal.

And Harris could pan out well here too.

Again, very happy to get Hampton and that future pick could have value given how it is years out with not much protection.

Why was Orlando nice to Boston here? The Magic gets a tiny bit less cap space, but for what in return?
Maybe cash-considerations were part of this, as the media might not have reported that.

Also: when are these two SRPs? Is it 2021 and 2022?

We also help Boston to be better this year which helps our Chicago pick. One spot in the lottery is much more impactful than difference between two seconds and late first round pick. We also got tpe and didnt bring salary back. I must say i am quite impressed with the level of planning on our side.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

The SRPs are in 2025 and 2027.

From what I can extract it is the lesser of 2025 BOS 2nd and 2025 MEM 2nd, and then 2027 BOS 2nd.
