Who will guard star guards such as Harden, Kyrie, Mitchell, Cp3, Murray, and Luka?

And then the worse problem may be larger wings:
Lebron, KD, Kawhi, PG, Giannis

No one will, Derrick Jones Jr is a good defender but hr isnt strong enough to trouble Lebron, Kawhi, KD... And I thini Rocco defense is underapreciated, but it isnt enough, the biggest problem is there no resistence in the perimeter, its pretty easy for those star to get their shots over and drive at will against CJ and Dame. For me their only hope is to score more than the opponent, and firepower they have

The thing is, Lowry is still good but old, he wants 50 millions for 2 yrs after this season. I dont think the Lakers need him to win, for me they are still the best team, and if it isnt enough Lowry wouldnt do the trick, for the Heat the situation is pretty similar, but I dont see the Heat a champion this year even with Lowry, so why surrender so much for a rental that wont make you win ? It isnt Kawhi coming to the Raptors, its just a superb complementary piece, but still a complementary piece

The reason as to why Philly or Miami didn't make a proper offer for Lowry is because in a trade for Lowry's $30 million contract they would have to trade at least $26 million dollars of their own players.

And you can't get to $26 millions without seriously effing up your roster and the rotations.
Neither team had any albatross contract that they just could throw in to make the salaries work.
Psychotic. It didn’t make sense. I don’t know how you make it make sense

they might need him to win tho thats the thing you cant argue he makes them better. they might not but what if they do? lebron is 36 you go allin for a chip when you have a shot. if lebron leaves the chance of you winning a chip with a core of ad and tnt is pretty low. i mean your the lakers so someone will sign but any other team the odds are under 3% your future is **** anyway they have no other good future assets

I honestly don’t know why the Sixers or Heat didn’t up their offer, I can’t see Raptors not being reasonable in their asking price. You mean to tell me if the Sixers put Maxey and a first round pick or 2 on the table Raptors wouldn’t accept? Or if Miami didn’t put Precious, Nunn and a first round pick on the table the Raps would say no?

I don’t think the Lakers were ever a serious contender. I’m a Lakers fan and then holding out THT is a complete joke

What??

Giving up all the depth in Schroder, KCP and THT for 1 year rental is worth gambling? You want to give Lowly 2/50?

First, the Lakers need to get heathy.
Second, they need a center like Drummond, Aldridge, Whiteside

Lowry is not the key and the asking price was too much.

Not Yo Ham Lakers!

What you say is true, but let's word it correctly... Toronto's asking price was more than the Market would bear... I can't really say KCP/Schroder/+ whether it's THT or someone else, is 'too much' for Lowry... And Duncan Robinson/someone not named Herro, certainly isn't too much either... It's just that of the teams in on the deal, that's what was offered... So Toronto kept him...
I think if I'm Toronto, I'm probably happy with that... Although I'm probably a little nervous about losing him for nothing... That said, cap room is nice too... I have no idea if Lowry walking gets them under, but still...

I think based on the market and assuming Schroder was willing to do an extend/trade, adding THT to beat an offer of Duncan Robinson and not Herro was foolish... If Schroder (most likely) had no intention of extend and trading, then the Lakers probably needed to add something to beat Miami's offer... Although I don't think that needed to be THT per-se...

maybe they've decided to tank now. there aren't as many truly bad teams this season so warriors could still get to a good spot if they try.

Was actually just looking is over.

Aldridge and Jabari Parker just got released, so they're off the list.

Main guys are:

Andre Drummond
Hassan Whiteside
Avery Bradley
.............................

Who plays backup C for you guys if you're buying Hassan out?

It would likely be Chimezie Metu and Chris Silva. Metu has been impressing in his limited minutes, so I'm sure they want to get some more minutes for him. Bagley is likely going to the bench as well if he comes back this season. Whiteside is barely playing for us, so it won't matter too much.

It's because most teams wanted the Minny pick (top 3 protected). 60% chance it will convey. I think only Bradley Beal is worth that.

So is it safe to say we went from "Drummond is going to sign with Lakers, in no uncertain terms" to "Drummond will listen to everyone but the Nets" right around the time Drummond found out we were trying to trade KCP to the Raptors... :nonono:

considering portland is the very definition of a treadmill team, i thought powell was a great pickup for them, ie he adds greatly to what they are already strong at

if blake did that 30 years ago against a former team where he clearly mailed it in before bolting he would have got his ass whooped big time. The family friendly vibes of the NBA today is what really sucks not the three point shooting

We also don't really have anyone tough on the team. Mostly a bunch of youngsters.
