Re: It's a Tragedy to see the Deadline's Over Post Trade Thread
Eh I don't really see why not on Drummond. Thing is we'll just cut Luke Kornet, so center in center out. I assume Timelord will get minutes no matter what and Drummond will basically just eat into Thompsons playing time which seems fine given that it looks like Thompson has Coivid right now (unless theres some other explanation for the longer than usual H&S absence, now at 10 days).
I would have hated it 28 million but for the min... Well I'd prefer a big wing type, but those are hard to get so why not?

You hate to see it.

I'm in on Drummond. I'm all for CHAOS after a dull, non-enjoyable first half of the season.

I mean this team isn't going to be making the finals or anything, but a bench of PP, Fournier, Nesmith, Romeo, KO, Wagner, Semi, and Tristan is a hell of a lot better than what we had before.
Why not get an inexpensive front court player that rebounds? Theis was 6'8, RWill is 6'9, Thompson 6'10", Grant ? come on now.
Don't think the Cs have any shot at him anyway, but Tristan and Rob can both rebound so I don't think that's too much an issue. I'd be open to Andre if he could be more if a bruiser type, but afaik that's not his game
I hear you. I heard Scal say RWill and Theis would have trouble with Val in the Grizz game w/o Thompson, and he was right. We need to rebound and run a lot more than we do. Hopefully that'll change.

Re: It's a Tragedy to see the Deadline's Over Post Trade Thread
Here are some 11 million or under TPE ideas:
Larry Nance Jr (CLE) - 10.7 / 9.7
Kyle Anderson (MEM) - 9.5
Thomas Satoransky (CHI - 10.0
Maxi Kleber (DAL - 8.8 / 9.0 (he is a great shooter who could play next to a center).
Cedi Osman (CLE)- 8.1 /7.4 / 6.7
Miles Bridges (CHA) - 5.4
Justin Holiday (IND) - 6.0
I tried to include guys who (a) have enough size to play wing minutes BUT arent strictly PG's or Centers because I don't see why we'd invest more money at those spots. We don't need Jakob poetl from SAS as a center at 8.8 million or Delon Wright from DET as a PG for 8.5 for example. Also b) Make 5-11 million dollars and c) Could conceivably be available, Jae Crowder for instance on PHO would be perfect but they are good and arent trading a wing.
Its real slim pickings. Alot of guys in this range are PG's or Centers, because good wings get paid more. Maybe you try to see if you can poach someone in the final year of their rookie deal who the team MIGHT not wanna pay after the year like Miles Bridges.

If Lebron wants a player they will go there. At least RW3 is a starter for now.

Is there any reason to think Javonte was traded to reduce the amount of fun in Tatum's life, much as was rumored about Robey/Bird?

I think if we get Drummond we'd buy out TT. Or else it's just a dumb move. You can sort of play TT and Theis together. But TT + Drummond would be the disaster of disasters and one of those guys is going to be severely unhappy and be horrible for the team.
This Drummond thing just seems like more spec from media types
Drummond does not make great sense for either LA, Brooklyn philly or Mil ....Boston NY and Charlotte make the most sense. He is far more interested in a prominant role, playing for new contract while still in his prime ...age 27.
He is a VERY rich man's TT, Drummond and Rob will play and TT will cheer
He would get playing time in LA or NJ and he will win a title. I just don't see him wanting to play on a 21-24 that is in shambles. Hell, he would be better off playing in NY or Charlotte as they are better teams right now.
The reality is buyout players don't want to play for a 21-24 (which is going to be the Celtics record 6 hours from now)
team that could very well miss the playoffs.
both LAs, Brooklyn NY all have multiple bigs and established starters ...Drummond easily starts here over TT, he would start over cody zeller in Charlotte
EC Finals 3/4 yrs we NEED a legit starting Big w Fournier he is missing piece and show what he can do surrounded by shooters...
Charlotte has lost Ball and maybe Uconn connections or something ....I can easily see him wanting us !

That was my first thought when Javonte got traded. Get Tatum to focus more on the team/bball. Though of course, we have no way of verifying that.
EDIT: But logically, Javonte is already up there in age and wasn't an Ainge draftee. Most dispensable of the end-of-bench guys.

I’d target Satoransky with the TPE and Justise Winslow for Tristan Thompson, but I don’t think we can get either..

Why would Drummond want to go here instead of the Lakers where he's gonna get way more playing time and a chance to compete for a championship?

I'm 71 and I probably can shoot free throws better than Andre?... IDK?.... at least Kromet or Gromet...whatever his name is can can a three point shot....and block an occasional one.....I have to pass .. not impressed with "name" players with that level of weakness....never have been... So why start now?

Like the Winslow idea...I'd do that swap...for sure...As long as Winslow is healthy?"

I would take Drummond but my issue is what’s the point. Zero percent chance the Celtics resign Drummond because they have no Bird rights. So really what is the point?
Celtics could have a chance of resigning KO or Dieng if everything goes well.
