George Hill already has 3 pages and he's been a Sixer for ~24 hours lol.

I think that is mostly because everybody was posting in the bigger summer thread when it went down. George Hill was traded at the deadline, then the movement stopped dead, and people post in these welcome threads to discuss more in-depth. In the Green case, after he was acquired, people move on to “what’s next? Harden, Beal, Lavine?”

The Danny Green welcome thread had too much comp. However, I agree his impact is underrated by many.

He gets disrespected by the fanbase too often. His ability to shoot quickly on high volume, even when occasionally contested, is incredibly valuable. He's won us some games lately with his play on both ends. Let's show him some love.

It's pretty much the same morons who hated on RoCo that now hate on Green.

People who don't understand the game.

Is this even allowed? I didn't think teams operating over the cap are allowed to sign their players for anything other than the MLE or vet minimum?

It depends if we have his bird rights or not.

I think we dont have them because his current contract was only 2 years long and hes been here for only 1 season, but i may be wrong.

I can see why he’s been apart of three different championship teams as a starter.

Perfect role player (which has a higher value in my eyes than a good but gets you no where can’t fit type of player).

Can’t really be exposed because of his defense and his 3% doesn’t have to be all that high to be positive because he’s such a low usage guy. I.e can be efficient without needing the ball to be.

Perfect 5th player to put around a high usage star or a chip winning team can do both.

Because we are so flawed he’s turned into his final mode which is ballhandling/shot creating I give you 20 points a night Green haha wild times.

I miss Bradley already a lot (give me Holmes vibes lol)

I think we have his early bird rights because he signed a 2 yr contract with the lakers and as far as I know, bird rights gets transferred even if he is traded. We can sign him to 175% of his current contract and it must be 2 yrs without team options.

Just be warned I love him now
But he can be as streaky as anything with the 3 ball especially in the playoffs. Like Covington but worse (Though Green is a better defender and doesn’t make the classic Covington play but Cov can certainly rebound it)
Could be 40% or it could be sub 31 who knows.

If that's true, that's awesome. I want him to be a Sixers for 2 more years. Thybulle mentioned he's learning from Danny a lot.

His numbers have gotten better each month this year. His March numbers are outrageous: 45.6% 3p shooting, 15.2 net rating!

His shooting form looks great. I know he's had disappointing playoff performances in the past, but with a healthy MVP level Embiid, Simmons and Tobias I think he's going to get better looks than ever before. He could still go cold but I'm cautiously optimistic he will be a positive contributor this year.

Can’t believe I had to pull up a thread from March. Just goes to show that Green has been quietly handling business all season.

Now he’s out officially 2-3 weeks. That’s better than I expected, and I think he’ll still be pretty limited at that point.

It's grade 2. 2-3 weeks is best case scenario. Could be 5 weeks.

I think of the starters, he's the most replaceable since we have a DPOY candidate on the bench. A hybrid of him and Shake should compensate for his shooting and defense, with more variety of scoring (Shake) and defending (Thybulle).

Pompey’s article tonight seems to indicate that this could much closer to 3-5 weeks which pretty much takes him out through the Finals. Not good. We aren’t getting past Brooklyn without a full deck.

If BRK is fully healthy we wouldn’t beat them with Danny. If there not 100%healthy we can beat them even without Danny.
So I don’t see this as doom as you seem too.
