My reaction when first tuning in: "Huh? I thought Pacers are playing Mavericks not Celtics"

Good thing. Celtics are hot well ahead of Bucks.

Myles got absolutely hosed on 2 calls here in the 2nd. He knocked the ball out on Josh Richardson’s leg, and the ref’s weren’t in position and missed it. After the inbound, Dallas hit a 3. Then, down the court, he absolutely rope a doped Porzingis on a pivot, and they called travel on him, when, even on replay, he held his pivot. Dang. Was a great couple minutes of play for him, taken away by a ref that just missed it twice.

I think we got a makeup call on a later out of bounds call.

I must’ve missed it. This was close to half time, with no questionable calls the rest of the way that I saw or heard.

Goga and Sumner literally developing into contributors right before our eyes

See coach B, this is what happens sometimes when young players are given the chance to play and learn

My mind just cannot map the Mavericks to their green color jerseys

I remember them wearing the green when I was first watching games growing up so not crazy for me, but I get it. They wore them from their debut in 80 to 93.

Great win albeit no Doncic. Loved that Goga and Sumner playing well in limited minutes. McConnell is doing well putting in those short jumpers and played 24 minutes.

I like Brogdon playing off ball more. Caris' addition has been pretty good.

Yeah, Levert may not have scored much yesterday, but his ability to get almost anywhere, handle the ball, and put pressure on the defense helped wonders last night for the rest of the team. Plus, he worked hard on defense, and was willing to put in work, as Porzingis and the Mavs were really attacking him on the pick and roll to get Myles off Porzingis and a smaller guard on him in the post.

Mind you, I wouldn't say he was good defensively, certainly wasn't terrible. But he was putting in work and effort, not hiding from anything or any contact, and it helped the team defensively overall.

I think Brogdon is a bit unique, in the sense that he isn't strictly suited for playing completely on ball or off ball

He needs a bit of both, somehow

He needs to get his fair share of time handling the ball and initiating the offense, it seems, in order for him to get into the rhythm of the offense

At the same time, he doesn't function well as the team's full time ball handler, he seems to quickly run out of gas in that type of role

Seems like the best partner for Brogdon would be a smaller, quicker version of himself

Caris is a bit like that

I too think Caris has been a great addition so far

Caris will have to be the guard next to Brogdon next year unless someone goes to the second unit ?

Brogdon
LeVert
Turner
Warren
Sabonis

Yeah, this is the plan, I believe, if everyone returns and is healthy.

It feels like Brogdon expands a lot of energy every time he attacks the basket

He's not quick enough to blow past not defenders, rather it looks like he relies more on his strength to push past them and nudge them aside while he barrels his way towards the rim

When he handles the ball, his two main moves are either to go for a pull up jumper, or the afore mentioned barreling towards the rim maneuver which usually ends with a layup attempt, which can be quite effective if he manages to catch the defense by surprise - but as mentioned this looks like it takes a lot of energy from him

He's not the effortless rim attacker like the Ja Morants or Donovan Mitchells or our very own Sumner

I don't know, that's just what it looks like to me

But yes he definitely benefits from playing next to another guard who can handle the ball and create his own shot

TJ can handle the ball, but he doesn't create his own shot as well as Oladipo or Caris
