Re: Tank World Order (2.0)
I would estimate we finish with the 5th worst record in the league. If we don't get the first overall I want Jalen Suggs he is exactly what we could use. A Billiups energy player that can really get us where we need to be. If we get a big in FA (25M / year Zach Collins?)
Z. Collins
Siakam
OG
Suggs
Fred
Trent Jr can probably be brought back as long as we dont have to match anything crazy. The deal for Wiseman/Min 1st/Wiggins for Siakam is interesting. But he is helping us get to the playoffs and next to the draft pick I could see him being a great 2nd option.

team needs a top pick badly.
no shot creators on the team. Either a wild drive in the paint or a 3 point chuck.

Re: Tank World Order (2.0)
I'm worried about this stretch from March 29 to April 26. It's a 15 game stretch where I could see us winning 10 games, it's going to be crucial that we find a way to lose some of those.
Even the Lakers are hobbled, so a game that we would have otherwise lost will likely be a win.
We need teams like the Knicks, Bulls, and Hawks to play well against us
Mar 29 @ Detroit Pistons
Mar 31 @ Oklahoma City Thunder
Apr 2 Golden State Warriors
Apr 5 Washington Wizards
Apr 6 Los Angeles Lakers
Apr 8 Chicago Bulls
Apr 9 @ Cleveland Cavaliers
Apr 11 @ New York Knicks
Apr 13 Atlanta Hawks
Apr 14 San Antonio Spurs
Apr 16 Orlando Magic
Apr 18 Oklahoma City Thunder
Apr 21 Brooklyn Nets
Apr 24 @ New York Knicks

Detroit played BK tough.
OKC SGA out. W
GS hope that Curry is back.
Washington is hit or miss, depends on Westbrook.
Lakers suck without Lebron. W
Bulls beefed up.
Cavs fighting hard, Sexton should be back.
Knicks fighting hard.
Hawks hot.
Spurs flip a coin.
Magic tanking. W
OKC maybe SGA back?
BK hope L
NY Playoff fighter
Cavs, maybe their in the playoff hunt by then.
So I see 3 guaranteed wins. The other games could go .500. So I see them going 9-6, still has them at 6 games under .500.

Re: Tank World Order (2.0)
Trading Powell will help a lot.
Trent should be coming off the bench and he likely won't be putting up 15ppg like in Portland so will help the tank and to keep his salary demands to around $15-16 million per season.
If they would've traded away Lowry, Trent would have less players in front of him on the depth chart. Well less of a proven starter.

I like your thinking. 9-6 is still too many wins, but it can certainly be worse (e.g., winning 10 or more, which would be a disaster).
Hopefully we load manage our players too. This season has been rough on our players and I want to give them ample opportunity to maintain their mental health and take care of personal and family issues at home. I would gladly DNP as many of our starters as possible if it would help them (and indirectly the tank...indirectly).
I acknowledge and thank the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples of the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ First Nations for allowing me to live, work and play on their unceded traditional territories.

Re: Tank World Order (2.0)
If we did go 9-6 (which I think is pretty realistic) it puts us at 27-33. I just think it's a little too much winning. Finding a way to lose to the Thunder in those two matchups would be especially helpful...
27-33 isn't the worst outcome in the world though, it would be just in time for one of the toughest 5 game stretches we've had all season. My hope is really that those 5 games knock any wind out of our sails that we might have left, and we take the opportunity to blatantly tank over the final handful of games.

Re: Tank World Order (2.0)
Yeah 9-6 or anything over .500 is risky if we want a top 5 pick. Hopefully, Kyle doesn't win us some meaningless games just to prove his worth on this next contract.
Hoping the tight schedule will be too exhausting for our guys, especially for Siakam playing the 5 in heavy minutes. FO should really get buy-in from Nurse to play our vet guys less, and develop Flynn/Harris/OG more.

We play Cleveland and WAshington 3 times in this next stretch. I cannot emphasize enough how these are MUST LOSE games.

I honestly don't know what direction theyre going in. By all accounts they suck but I'm hearing now theyre still trying to pick up a big In the buyout market? Even listening to nurse speak it sounds like they're still trying to compete and win games? Wtf is the point exactly...

Re: Tank World Order (2.0)
Nothing is worse than playing your supposed core guys 40 mpg, while still trying to win, only to continue losing, while not even getting reps for your young guys... Or not even having any decent young guys to develop in the first place, in a season where you should obviously just tank. It's so demoralizing on so many fronts...

Nurse and the players will keep trying to win. That's just part of competitive sports. It's management that actually decides what to do. A lot of us in tWo were hoping Lowry got moved in the deadline so we can lose more games (No way would this team have been able replace Norm's scoring and Lowry's production with any kind of consistency).
Management seems to have that Team Mediocre mindset unfortunately.

Or they just didn’t want to trade Lowry for Dennis Shroeder or other trash. They’re still managing to lose basketball games.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

I wouldn't have taken the Lakers deal either. Lowry should have been traded earlier in the season. I doubt we get anything of value from a Lowry sign and trade this upcoming offseason. Maybe a giant TPE, that would be cool I guess.
