Nikola Jovic

Post#1 » by Mickey8 » Mon Nov 30, 2020 12:56 am

I jus want to open the thread about him, soon he will be on the NBA scout's radar , the last year he got injured, broke the hand just before FIBA U16 European championship, so he wasn't exposed to the NBA scouts. I think with Tristan Vukcevic , he's the next big thing out of Serbia, born in 2003, 6'10 , could grow more , has such a nice feel for the game, can handle the ball , good passer, good shorter , I think he will end up in the NBA at some point in his career .

Looks coordinated and has some nice ball skills, hard to really evaluate much else based on the apparent level of competition, there.

I know the level of competition is not great but its the same level competition Jokic dominated in Serbia, youth league , before he became the pro by the way hes playing in the same club Jokic have played before he went to NBA , as I said Jovic got hurt just before FIBA U16 championships last year, so he wasn't showcased yet at the big stage, but the early next year there will be euroleague qualifying tournament , so he will got chance to compete against better competition but I don't doubt he will shine there. He was playing at a guard position than he had a growth spur, but he still handles the ball a lot in the junior league , he has a very good handles , creative passer , I like him more than Pokusevski ,

You dont know what you are talking about, he's the first round NBA Draft prospect material, you will hear much more from him soon , also he's in the good basketball club who plays talented players , so starting the next season he will play professional ball , Jokic's former club.

Whoa. That looks promising. What I like about what I saw is many times with these videos they show some lanky 7fter moving like an uncoordinated SF but very coordinated for the size. Problem is you know they are too skinny to play but by the time they put on the weight they no longer will have those skills. This guy looks a bit more filled out and he's not doing anything crazy. Not attempting step backs like Poku with nothing inside. You feel like sure not all the wild stuff would translate but in the league he'll still be a pretty athletic big maybe at the level of a Plumlee brother but with some real skill. I trust players from this area. Even the lower tier guys are plug in role players so if someone is making you take notice its worth keeping an eye on.

You are absolutely correct , his frame is filling nicely , if you compare him from the beginning of the year and now , its like a day and night and he also grew couple of inches since then, he won't have a physical problems like Pokusevski, his frame is good, also his ball handling to me is much more superior to Pokusevski , he's very quick with the ball , his making good decisions fast, he was playing as a guard growing up so he used to play with the ball a lot , he's a good shooter and passer , I really like him as the prospect ,I think he's the most talented Serbian prospect since Jokic , I am very high on him , and he will see professional action very soon too.

The name looks promising. If he can just turn the V a little and add a little more arc.

He plays for the same team Jokic have played , owned by the powerful basketball agent Misko Raznatovic , actually Raznatovic have tweeted after the game, that Jovic is upgraded version of Jokic , and he compared their debuts in Adriatic league , Jokic was 18 years old and Jovic is 17 years old, and Jovic have better stats in his first game in the league , I know its bs, there is no upgraded version of Jokic, Jokic is unique player , you can't emulate his touch , and all around basketball skills while not being great athlete , but Jovic is a good talent on his own and I expect a lot from him , potentially NBA player.

He's playing right now at the Adidas Next Genation Tournament. Has 29, 10 and 4 in 25 minutes and the 4th quarter hasn't even started yet. OP was right, this kid is the real deal.

His teammate Nikola Djurisic is the good prospect too, at the guard position . Croatian ,Tomislav Ivisic is the good prospect at center position, he's playing for Buducnost in this tournament. Jovic will play against him later today, team that wins that game will advance to the finals of the tournament.

He dominated today again 33 points in 25 minutes, struggling a bit with three point shooting in the tournament but he can improve there , he has the nice touch. His teammates Nikola Djurisic is a nice prospect too as I said, he had good game too.
