I understand his shortcomings but Drummond can help here, can carve out a role geared toward his strengths where he don't have to do so much.

For the minimum why the hell not? Rob will still play and we could use the extra body for insurance.

If the other contenders sign Drummond, that helps the Celtics. He is one of the biggest losers in the NBA.

Then what does that make us? Ainge wanting to sign a loser.

Doesn't really matter to me anyway, I just don't get people acting like he's a heaping pile of dog**** and can't contribute anything but being a loser.

I'd be fine signing a Dieng or Olynyk too.

Oh the Celtics are definitely losers if they sign Drummond. Dieng and Olynyk would be good players that can fill a role, though.

I would only want to have Drummond on this team under a couple stipulations:

1) Timelord continues to starts.
2) We also keep Wagner to play the back up 4 over Semi and Grant.

Let Drummond and Thompson fight over the back up 5 minutes. Release Kornet.

Kemba, Fournier, Brown, Tatum, Timelord
Smart, Langford, Nesmith, Wagner, Drummond
Pritchard, Edwards, Semi, G. Will, Thompson

Does KO bring something different than Wagner? I honestly don’t mind Wagner getting minutes as this team lacks Pace for being so young, that was one of the issues with Theis. Mo seems like he can at least get up the floor quick and stretch it.

Thinking he only chooses Boston if Ainge promises big minutes. I def don’t want him starting either so I don’t see the fit. If anyone I’d rather Porter jr for some minutes at the four.

Re depth at center. Do you guys feel that Timelord and Thompson is enough? Our only other bigs are GWill, Wagner, and Tacko. Do we want one more big to give RWill and TT some rest? If one them gets dinged up, is it better to have a replacement in the fold or just get one then if that happens? Celts seem to minimize the position, we get outsized in the paint and outrebounded, and the excuse is that it's not our system.

Come home Al. We’ve been waiting for you.

EDIT: My bad. Thought he was taking a buyout. Sounds like they’re trading him in the summer.

Horford is about to be 35, and is often injured of late.
Might wanna think about retiring.

Otto Porter Jr. is the guy I'd really want in a buyout.

Adding Porter/Fournier would be a good way to make this team built around the Jays. You can go super-small with a Porter/Tatum frontcourt and switch everything. But Rob can switch everything at C too. The spacing would take some burden off Brown throwing his body into the teeth of the defense. Makes it easier to manage Kemba's knee.

Yes, you're short on size. But I think smallball makes more sense to maximize this roster. Tatum, Brown, Smart, Fournier, Porter, RW3 all give you the ability to switch 1-4/1-5. There's always shooters for Brown and Tatum to kick it out.

Porter apparently isn’t likely to be bought out by the Magic.

Lakers will get Drummond because it’s LA and all the athletes want to go there plus Lebron is there. I think Boston has more to offer in terms of being a younger team but I’d be shocked if Drummond picks Boston over LA. The other thing is Brad wants bugs who shoot the 3. I would love to see more post play though . Drummond would give us a fighting chance against Embiid

Olynyk looked pretty good last night, and he is familiar with coach and the city, but after reading some of you talking about Gorgui Dieng being a better fit, I went to basketball reference and TBH, I'd take Gorgui over Kelly and over Drummond. I hope Celtics "interest" is some good will from Boston FO to help Schwartz on getting the best deal with Lakers/Knicks...

Dieng VS Olynyk this season:

WT says Dieng signed with SAS.
I’d love Porter if available but otherwise am fine with what we have.
