I want him to show some heart and play better when we are not down 30. Not that hard to comprehend..

It would be one thing if it was not just today. Yet he has seemed to play like crap until we are down 10, 20, and today’s case 30 points.

A plus yeah, but not a habit I want to see continue. He is just a frustrating player when he is not on. I don’t want another 3-5 years of hoping for potential to be filled (wiggins). We really need him to play better, along with everyone one else on the team. Hard team to watch year after year and my faith in them has not been much lower than today.

By habit I don’t mean him not quitting, but him playing like garbage all game and waiting until we are down with no chance to start showing up.

1st string Nowell, Beasley, MCD, Juancho, KAT.
2nd string Rubio, Ant, Culver/Layman, Vando, Reid

quick, email it to Finch

My bad. If I had taken your advice maybe we don’t get blown out by the freaking Rockets. Although I didn’t watch past the halfway mark of quarter 2 and the box score says KAT is the only wolf to have a good night.

I didn't watch. The comments paint the story...

I feel if you are having trouble with players being competitive then that's alarming.

Get players that love the game, will play hard and care about winning. On our list who is that?

You all have to keep in mind...we are the WORST team and 10 games behind the 8th seed with players that have big faults...I think the losing is started to wear on these guys, just like it is on us..that's not an excuse, but they are just humans at the end of the day. Very rich humans, but still humans with feelings and emotions even if this is their job.

Ant - Rookie, oblivious on defense
KAT - Easily frustrated when he either doesn't get calls or makes dumb fouls
Rubio - Good leader, but his scoring is either ON or completely off, it's never just "good enough for today"
Beasley - Great shooter, amazing even, good competitor, bad defender
Jaden Mcdaniels - Actually checks all the boxes, but he's still just a rookie

That's just the main guys we've been playing lately..there are flaws throughout this roster

Starters left the game 24-23. By the time they came back, it was 51-32. Enough said.

He quits all the time. He doesn't play a lick of defense cause he just doesn't care, and he continues to stand outside and take terrible long shots because he can't bother moving around the court to get himself open or to attack the rim when he can take an easier (way less efficient) jump shot.

Stat-padding against a team that has the game in its pocket up 30 in the last few minutes is not 'not quitting'. Some of you guys (gender neutral) need to stop celebrating low BBIQ, low effort, low efficiency players that simply put up shots to end up with high PPG numbers. You've been doing the same for years -much like this whole franchise- and you should have realized by now what the results of that are.

After rewatching the game I’m even more pissed than I was initially for 2 main reasons. We just beat them the day before on a 22-0 run and that would humble most teams especially a bottom 2 team. But for some reason John Wall & co felt comfortable enough to talk trash to our team the ENTIRE game and the only one to bark back was McDaniels (I know he’s a hot head from his UW days).

Seeing that made me realize we have no grit or heart in our identity or roster. Example- If Ant had a fast break and an opposing player committed a Flagrant 2 foul, who in the team do you definitely know would run out there to his defense. Ed Davis and McDaniels are the only ones I who I can see ready to go to war for their teammates right or wrong. And other teams def sense that when they play us. Playing on a 13 win team I know John wall wouldn’t trash talk Clippers (Bev, Morris), Mavs (JJ), Heat (Butler, Iggy), Pelicans (Adams), or Warriors (Draymond).

I know we’re a young team but this is a man’s league and I don’t expect people to become tough guys but you can’t get consistently punked at home. Reporters have said that Rubio is the lone player trying to get players fired up and motivated but he shot 1-12 in both HOU game so he’s not really leading by example and young players notice that.

I think along with SF/PF help this team needs to get 2 or 3 tough vets similar to when we had Andre Miller, KG, and Tayshaun. Maybe look at JJ, R.Lopez, Gibson, or Paterson on Vet Min deals. People need to think twice before disrespecting this team going forward.

I don't know that he's been putting in less efforts until those moments exactly. But when your opponent is up by 20-30 and time is running out you see their deep bench playing more and the opponent caring less about things like defense. The pressure is more off...it's likely over. Players that sat for 40 minutes come in cold and even if taking their chance seriously. These things all add up to garbage time stats when your starters are still in the game trying to catch up or rack up better stats and play than what they were showing earlier that got the team in trouble.

I would like to see more effective play earlier in games to stop teams from building 30 pt leads. Edwards has had a number of significantly poor shooting games with high shot load that would get players out of the league real quick, only to have those ugly numbers soften a little when he makes 4 more buckets in garbage time. No way around it. I guess one could argue it's experience playing to the end and learning to hit shots in the final 8 minutes of games which the greats obviously do. But the greats don't often shoot 20% for three quarters either.

In the past two blowout losses... Edwards is averaging 16.5 ppg in the 4th quarter.
In the past 4 blowout losses... Edwards is averaging 13.0 ppg in the 4th quarter.

For the season... the Wolves have been blown out 16 times. Edwards in those 4th quarters...

46 - 92 fg (50%) — 7.7 points per 4th quarter

__________

The rest of those games and in games where the outcome is sort of in doubt and he's not playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers...

36.9% fg — 3.9 points per quarter
