Are there no “Kawhi dropped 28pts and shot 52% FG but only made 1 out of x when being defended by Ben” yet?

Classic game of offense being overpowered by defense.

Aside from a clear mismatch in talent with us not having Biid this game.

I don’t take too much in the loss to the clippers. With the exception of the Portland scrubs fiasco losing on our home court. Western conference teams have tons of problems beating sixers on sixers home court. So to say Clippers a notch about the sixers is jumping the gun here. I only watched first half. But those drives by Leonard past tobi and also ben (after screen set). Embiid would meet Leonard at the rim and deter Leonard layups.

Now I say deter. Cause I don’t think Leonard would even try to put up a layup with Embiid in the restricted area. He’s either stop. Pull up for a soft 5 foot shot and still make it. But it’s still better to get him to take that type of shot than a layup or dunk that he got cause Embiid isn’t in the paint.

This. Without Joel I don’t think the clippers are head and shoulders above the sixers. With Joel the sixers are clearly the better the team. At this stage Joel is looking like the best player on the planet so let us not forget what we are missing.

Sixers would have won this game if they didn't let a guy who averaged 9.4 ppg in 140 college games score 20+ on them.

Yeah. Probably would have won if they had more than one center that's 35 and averages 17 minutes. Hopefully they sign somebody or Embiid comes back soon. I think getting that #1 seed might improve their odds to win a little bit.

Despite the loss tonight (without Jo), I still think we match up extremely well with the Clippers (and Lakers, for that matter). Outside of the Nets, I don't think there's a team I'm afraid of playing in the PO's, assuming we're at full strength.

I'm not afraid of any Western teams, honestly. I'm concerned with all of the Nets, Heat and Celtics though. The Heat and Celtics give us problems when they're healthy, because they know how to defend. A matchup with the Nets really comes down to whether they have a healthy Harden and Durant. If Durant isn't right by the ECF, the 76ers can get them.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I could see the Heat giving us fits, but I think we'd overpower them in a 7-game-series. The Celtics are a different team compared to the last few seasons, so not sure if I see them as a legitimate threat anymore.

We struggled against the Heat last season when they played zone, i don't think that's gonna be effective this time around. They're gonna be hard to beat anyways

I'm not worried about the celtics this time around tbh, their offense right now is Brown and Tatum taking turns to shot and at the same time they have big hole on the center position.

So I am listening to Malcolm Gladwells book David and Goliath and I have no doubt that if the 76ers meet the Nets in the conference finals the Nets are going down. They are too big and too strong in every area, on paper. Their confidence will be sky high and they will think they are unbeatable and that will be their undoing. According to Gladwell our David status will force us to find a way to win. If we don't win Gladwell has some explaining to do.
The Accession of Paul Reed is upon us !

You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.
