Don't really care about Gordon and Vuc. Not sure why we wanted to become the Orlando Magic.

Team basketball is all about fit, and doing your job. KG was interior roaming PF defensive anchor. Pierce was the slasher. Ray Allen was the sniper. Rondo and Perkins were defensive oriented players.

People on this board have to understand, you can have five 20 pt scoring guards, and it won't make a difference. There is just 1 ball, and 1 person shoots this ball.

I mean, we're already winning if Wagner and Kornet are playing like this lol

He doesn’t care about being on the Celtics though.

I think we play better small. JT or JB at the 4 is a mismatch for the other team. Aaron Gordon at the 4 is just Aaron Gordon at the 4. Vuc would have been fine but not for multiple 1sts. He's def not going to fill some kind of KG role for us. And the league has changed since our Big 3 anyway.

Fournier isn't going to score 20 for us but he slides right into that Hayward role of scoring and cutting and passing and taking pressure off everyone else. Especially on nights Kemba sits out, we need that extra punch. And in the playoffs it'll make it harder for the defense to load up on the Jays.

And Mo and Kornet are large and seem much more useful that I'd imagined.

I'm totally cool with our trade deadline.

I worry that with the chemistry issues this team has apparently had bringing in a reputed ego driven guy like Drummond might make things go toxic.

how many big white guys who shoot the 3 and don't play good perimeter D do we need? :D

I am down with OPJ or whatever..
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

I'm not much a Danny fan, but I do like the Fournier potential on this team. We will see. If he walks for nothing or doesn't work out, that's gonna be a bad look. Last thing we want is the tpe to be wasted.

I would love to see KO back. Rockets still haven't bought him out though. Would suck if they kept him around

You are right about defense normally being very important. Other than perhaps a Nets like attack when the Nets won't have to probably face a truly great all around team like the Duncan/Leonard/Manu/Parker Spurs, very tough to win a championship without good defense.

One thing about this trade, even though Fournier is not a very good defender, his presence may allow Tatum/Smart/Brown to play closer to their full capabilities on defense. Takes pressure off of their scoring. NBA players have just so much energy and someone like Tatum this year has had to work a little harder for his shots at least from what I have seen...that may impact effort on defense even if Tatum didn't suffer from covid.

As for Theis, from what I saw at least, he appeared to normally be a floor raising but ceiling lowering defender. I like his contributions for the small salary but I didn't want him in the rotation medium term so this change even if it leads to losses instead of wins from my perspective is not a hindrance medium to long term.

And Celtics even if they wanted Theis back next year in a bench role...chances of having him next year for a reasonable price probably only increased with this trade. If he doesn't do very well with his new team, he won't get the huge raise on his existing salary that some fans expected.

Like I said Friday no one's coming here. It's either the Lakers or Nets.

Like I keep saying the buyout market just addresses super teams weaknesses which is depth.

Very little competition, players teaming up creating super teams and knowing every single year at least one team that's going to be in the finals before season even starts. That's the sorry state of the NBA now.

I believe you are experienced enough to take these kinds of statements with a grain of salt. Not that he doesn't care but drawing conclusions that he's now some die hard, bleed green Celtic for life is a bit naive.
