Golden opportunity to move into the #1 Seed

Post#1 » by Whiskey Slick » Sat Mar 27, 2021 6:29 pm

... in the Eastern Conference, of course.

Philly is now hitting one of the toughest parts of their schedule, if not the toughest. It's not only West Coast trip time for the 76ers, but they are playing amongst the best teams in the West and the healthy ones too.

Meantime the Nets are home with multiple days off, FINALLY, and playing the dregs of the league.

If we can't takeover 1st in the East over the next week or so, we might never takeover the #1 Seed.

I wish we were at full strength to take advantage of this opportunity, but we run with the horses we have.

It really doesnt matter. Home court doesnt mean much with no/few fans. and philly wont make it past round 2 anyway. we would need to drop to the 4 seed to see them in round 2, which wont happen.

Philly screwed themselves for not doing what it took to get lowry. it will be another disappointing embrassing exit again this year for them.

It will all line up for us pretty well....

round 1: we get some play-in fodder like pacers or bulls that we will take down in 4 or 5 games with littler effort
round 2: we get the bucks who have 0 shot in the postseason when it becomes a halfcourt game
Round 3: we get whatever team sent the sixers home. maybe boston again or maybe the heat, hawks or knicks. we beat them in 5 games and its the finals.

The only chance we had for this to be tough was if miami or philly got Lowry. Healthy/Nash are all that can get in our way

Either Philly's GM didn't know what a Nets killer Lowry is, which is the height of incompetence, or they knew and failed to make that trade, which is even more incompetent than the former.

Philly has the Clips, Nuggets, Cavs, Wolves.

We have Wolves, Rockets, Hornets and Pelicans.

Philly lost by 15 to the Clippers, so now we're only 1 Game out without playing. :)

I thought their road trip was tougher than that. What was I looking at? :(

That said, we have all teams with losing records at home. They at least have two west coast winners on the road, LAC and Nuggets, and they already lost the first one last night. However the Pelicans record is misleading. Zion is really ballin' now and they will not be easy to beat. The other three we should win handily.

BTW the Knicks beat the Bucks too. :D

76ers are the only team I see challenging us in the east.

It would be nice to take the top spot. If we can have zero health setbacks for the rest of the season, I don't think anyone else can keep pace.

We are fine as long as we are top 2 seed in the East, HCA is necessary for the first two rounds but then we are fine without it.

I want HCA in the NBA Finals or atleast be in position for it if Utah doesn’t make it.

Iam watching it too. Should be a Denver win and a good preview of what they can do with Aaron Gordon in the lineup.

Lol Philly getting taken to the wood shed. The Gordon trade was brilliant.

If you want a good read check out the game thread on 76ers forum. They know they missed out with Harden and a lot were against trading Simmons and Maxey at the time. Not now. They would throw Thybulle in as well and 4 picks.
