Unsigned Free agents
The buyout market is drying up. Are there any other veterans out there that could be a 3rd string PF or Center that wouldn't kill us in the playoffs?

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

It’s crazy to think how good Demarcus Cousins was when traded to NO. Two major injuries later, I imagine he has nothing left or good chance someone would have picked him up.; however, that’s not always the case. I really haven’t seen him play this year.
Dedmon was okay last check.

I actually thought Glenn Robinson was a good fit last year, if still available. Brett was using him as a four in some small lineups. Not sure if Doc could use him.

Dedmon and Glenn are at least worth a look, if they don't look like Fat Albert with the pandemic.
As for Cousins, I actually have liked this game, problem is I don't think he is quick enough to play the 4 anymore.

True stretch F/C options are scarce. DeMarre Carol and RHJ would both be upgrades over Scott.

RHJ isn't a stretch 4. He's 6'6" and can't hit a shot outside of 5 feet.

I voted Cousins for the pro wrestling aspect, but I would rather see us add Dedmon if we're talking backup centers. Truth is, if Embiid can come back healthy, then none of them will really matter.

He lost almost all of his mobility. He was averaging 8.4 FGA in Houston, of those 4.6 were 3's. That wouldn't be too bad if he's wasn't shooting 33% from 3.

Re: Unsigned Free agents
Clearly not a 4. Only suggesting giving him a look considering the market is limited and the likelihood of us landing a legitimate stretch big isn't favorable. I'd still prefer some other options, but at least RHJ is a switchable defender who can be thrown into some small ball lineups. He proved fairly effective in a deep reserve roll for Toronto last year.LloydFree wrote:ankle420breaker wrote:True stretch F/C options are scarce. At this point signing another guard and playing Simmons more at the 4/5 spots may be a better answer than any of the 4/5 guys left out there.

How about Isiah Thomas?
For the record, I picked Spellman. 2nd choice would be Faried.

The Bucks signed Teague? Do they really need Austin Rivers? Yeah there were issues in LA, but like Tobi he had his best years there. Not a bunch of All Stars on the market, everyone is a few years older now and our team can’t have too many ball handlers who can shoot a bit with decent size.
Ben’s passing from the post has been epic as well.

In this pace and space league hes not quick enough to play the 5 anymore, even less the 4.
Thats why nobody wants him, hes basically useless.

Definitely agree that they should play Ben more in that role, but they should be looking for that big wing. Like Glenn Robinson to play with him, as Ben plays some of the 5 spot.
I think they have enough guards with the Hill pick up. Just play Shake more.. If needed.
But, add in George for 20+ and there should be enough opportunity to play Ben in the front court more often.
I think a Glenn Robinson type could be used immediately in the lineup. A guard likely would just be insurance.... Like a 3rd center.

GR III has been available for a while since the Kings released him, I was surprised he didn’t find a home yet. Not sure he loved it here last year, but new regime in place and all.

Re: Unsigned Free agents
I was excited when we traded for him, but came away disappointed in his play. Not beating out Scott in the bubble rotation was a let down. The framework is there, but I question how driven he is to succeed at this level. Has to be a reason why he remains unsigned.Skates wrote:GR III has been available for a while since the Kings released him, I was surprised he didn’t find a home yet.
