Sorry Cliff, the best player on your team is a rookie not a vet

Hampton does some really nice things. He looks a bit lost positionally defensively, but as long as we keep giving him burn I'm confident he will fix those issues. Looks like a keeper to me.

I really like those two plays from RJ.

First off the ball screen with the pull up jumper and then the quick crossover to get into the lane on the same look and the kick out to Chuma. Those were well executed.

I'm cautiously optimistic but I'm going to wait until he cools off to see what he looks like when he's not scoring on ridiculous percentages

Can you imagine what it’s going to be like in the defensive end with Okeke, Issac, Bamba and Fultz on the floor? WOW

This is why I hate when people say, "He must not be showing it in practice" when it comes to defending Cliff's preference to playing vets over young guys.

The thing is he is isn't forcing it. Most of his makes are open looks, put backs or post ups on smaller players. It's not anything out of the ordinary.

Not the one I'm thinking of... I wanna say it was a knicks big in the mid-90's but just can't find it

Cartwright?

Shoot

I saw Pepe at the grocery store. I was buying a dozen eggs last night and the store was kind of slow since it was after dark. Pepe was in front of me and chatting away with SOUL at the cash register. Everyone had masks on, but as soon as he spoke I recognized the voice. He was telling the mods how rebuilding is a bad thing. He said how come the Magic keep drafting top picks but have no banners hanging to show for it? He ignored SOUL and pulls out a large sheet of $1 bills. He asks if he had scissors but SOUL said no.

He looked back at me and saw the eggs and said "You workout huh? Its good to stay healthy. I used to workout by lifting bales of hay after school in 1952. Eggs are a good source of energy, mind if I take one? " I shrugged and told him to go ahead. He opened my pack of eggs, takes one out, lowers his mask, just throws the whole thing in his mouth shell and all, puts his mask back up, and begins chewing loudly. As he's chewing, he's crookedly folding and ripping a sheet of dollar bills handing them to the lady individually. While he's chewing, he tells me the Coach Clifford is his favorite coach in Magic franchise history. I tell him I agree so he hopefully stops talking to me.

The store was short on change so he just pays the full dollar amount. He hands me a crooked bill that is almost ripped in half and says "thanks pal, in the future that single egg will be worth a dollar so we will call it even"

I'm heading to my car after and I see him and angry man arguing. There was Pepe and he's arguing with a man built like a gnome wearing a poorly fit Evan Fournier jersey. The man spoke and I instantly knew it was KillMonger. KillMonger wanted Pepe to apologize to the boards for suggesting Evan Fournier wasn't his favorite player. Pepe tells KillMonger that he's got his mask on inside out and upside down. They both start talking about Buddy Ball and then look deep into each other's eyes and start crying and sobbing that their favorite players were gone forever.

It was a pretty weird.

Hampton has some poor man's Westbrook vibes with his bouncy strides and vertical pop.

It's not just hot shooting for me. He's finally showing me stuff defensively, chops as a real passer, scoring in transition, && is putting the ball on the floor and doing some intriguing things off the dribble.

I've seen enough to be really excited about a Chuma/Isaac/WCJ pairing.

After a miserable stretch in the first quarter, Bamba quietly has 12 PTS, 5 REB and 1 BLK on a +7 in 15 minutes.

I want Bamba to start learning to use his length when guys drive hard on him. Make players finish over that length.

Return to Orlando Magic
