sometimes you just lose.

I've heard that from you more than any poster on this board dude. Does a loss actually every matter to you?

The moment things teetered in any way the GM would throw everything at a guy and when that didn't work they did it again and again. Constantly tinkering with **** has not led to much. Ben, flawed as he is, has JUST begun to get into a flow with Embiid. You guys have already made up your mind that things will go badly so when they do you are so quick to rush to "SEE WE SHOULD HAVE TRADED HALF THE SQUAD". Its a self fulfilling prophecy at this point lol.

This is the first season in a while that the team did not switch everything at the deadline. I think that counts for something and its worth building upon IMO rather than throwing everything and the kitchen sink in yet again.

I think the counter point to this, assuming we’re talking about moving Simmons for someone, is that we’ve been more than patient with Simmons development or lack tbere of. He just seems like he’ll never morph into an elite scorer. Embiid became that, but I’m still skeptical that we can make it through the playoffs the same way when refs swallow their whistles and embiid isn’t getting the calls he wants. An elite scoring guard or wing might just be a better fit and nothing will change that. That said, you need the right opportunity to come along, don’t want to dump Ben for nothing.

This, thank you!

Glad that Doc finally decided to challenge. He doesn't do it enough imo.

I'm glad Doc kept the deep bench in when they started to cut the difference.

Maxey has been attacking the rim a lot more this game. I don't think he's shot a single floater. He'll be rewarded at the line a lot more going forward if he keeps this up.

And no, Ben woulda been gone for Harden

I would’ve loved trading for Harden because he’s a superstar that would’ve paired great with Embiid and solves exactly what my problem has been with this team for so many years. But I understand that you can only control what you can control and we just ran into an unfortunate scenario with the whole Morey Houston thing.

I’d still take Morey over the Simmons for Harden trade going through. That’s how sick and tired I’ve been of the front office situation since Hinkie left.

Really? But Morey plus Harden didn’t work back in Houston, what makes you think that Morey, without Harden in Philly will turn things around?
I’d rather take Harden, without Morey and watch him pair up with Embiid.

This last 3 games a lot of mis cues on rotations, we gave a lot of open 3's to the clips and to the nuggets.

They shot a lot of ridiculous shots on the first quarter, true, but also shot open a lot.

not this year. We have won like 8 of our last 10 or something without Embiid.

Like I'm not a super positive guy in general. Take meds to keep me from getting too negative. So when I come on here and see yall being super negative I just dont get it lol.

Getting swept by the Celtics sucked because it was a culmination of terrible moves that I hated and I honestly didn;'t think we could get out of it. That loss mattered and sucked.

This year? I didn't expect much; didn't think we had the shooters, Tobias looked the same, Ben looked worse and it was bad...but then the team started to win and win with ease, win games we never won in the past and for the first time in a while we don't have **** contracts, we have picks, we have youth, and we have a dude at the helm with a plan. So any loss doesn't sting as much to me. Especially ones that come without Embiid and on a long west coast swing..the last few games of those always suck lol.

Its just not the end of the world so if I'm not freaking out about it is because these games honestly don't matter as much IMO. Come playoff time, the flaws of the team will suck more because that would probably be the end of the season lol.

Now if this was happening with Embiid and we went on a long losing streak then yeah the freak outs would be validated...it just feels a bit much with all the context involved IMO. This thread reads as if the team is fighting for 8th in the East and Embiid doesn't exist ...

its just not that bad ....yet lol.

Maxey kid can play. He lost some confidence being in and out of rotation. But it’s clear as day he can dribble penetrate and beat the guy off the dribble almost anytime he wants. Now whether he get clear path to the paint is a different story. I’d like to see him more with Embiid drawing a ton of attention on the other side. The paint is gonna to be wide open for
Maxey.

As far as I'm concerned, we won this game.

The line Ben can’t play with such an such should really be such and such can’t play with Ben. His intrinsic value lowers by the day. Moving NBA quality players because the fit doesn’t work up to a certain point you have to reassess things. This is a complimentary player not priority numero uno. Which should have been Embiid all along. It’s salvageable but the margin for error used to be huge now it kind of isn’t any more. Sports fortunes happens quick. Seems like forever ago we won the superbowl but it wasn’t that long ago.

It's games like these that make me wonder if Simmons is ever really going to get it.

I mean, it's really the only point, and the constant point with this team. Media is noticing again, and just asked Doc about it during the press conference.

That time has passed. This entire time without Jo was time for Ben to do what he did a few years ago when we had that run. No reason at all for him not to do that. I'm tired of the excuses for him. He's able to do it, but just doesn't have the mentality to do it consistently. That doesn't mean I can't call him out when he **** the bed. It's basketball, the objective is to put the ball in the hoop. The most basic skill in basketball can't be an afterthought.

It's hard to get too upset over these games when the regular season is essentially meaningless. We are going to finish with either 1st or 2nd seed probably the 2nd seed.

Riding or dying on a loss just seems like a massive overaction by some. We all know what this team needs and what it is and isn't. It's on Morey to fix the bench and bring in some guys he'll either do that or won't this loss will have zero impact on how far we go

It's not the odd loss guys. It's the disheartening trend of Ben's development. We have two stars supposedly. One one goes down, the other should be able to pick up the slack. Ben can't do that, and it hurts this team massively, and it will be even more apparent in the playoffs.
