So no you arent wrong we likely finish between 4-6 in the standings. It seems we should of just took some bad contracts in free agency rather then useful players and just "rested" some players OKC style. Notice they project the Thunder to finish worst now.

Posted this in reply to someone in the game thread. So figuring we finish 4th like 538 projects that puts us at 48% to stay top 4 meaning we likely go down in the the draft order. Time to start figuring out who we like at pick 6 or 7.

I would legit get depressed if we fell to 6-7. I've invested alot of time scouting and pumping myself up about these top guys.

Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

As long as we stay in 4th as projected were still 48% chance to stay top 4. Falling to 5th or 6th would be a true disaster as 5th place is only 42% to stay top 4and 6th is 37%. Where we finish really does matter because outside the top 3 those % points drop fast.

I still think if we land anywhere between 3-7, Weaver's guy will be Kuminga. He seems like a VERY Weaver-ish type

Honestly I look at the Pistons schedule and only see three wins the rest of the way. Two against the Thunder, and one against the Magic. There is no way we fall to 6 or 7. We could fall to 4, but the way the Magic are trying to beat good teams(last night versus Clippers), we may not have much to worry about.

there is no chance we finish 3-22 from here, im thinking a 9-16 finish should be enough to a get a top3 spot

We are playing a lot of western conference teams, who we can’t seem to beat. Even not so good teams in the West beat us(Grizzlies, Kings). I don’t see 9 games at all. We have only beat the Raptors since Wright has been gone. Plus Killian Hayes is coming back, which only will make thing’s worse. I don’t think you even really see 9 wins on this schedule going forward. Some of you are just preparing for the worst.

Right, how are we winning 9 out of 25 games when we've only won 13 out of 47 so far? What has happened to improve our current pace by essentially 50%? We've been on a 16-19 win pace consistently all season and all it takes 2 good quarters for people to think we're sneaking into the play in.

we'll see who is closer at the end of the season. If we replicate our current pace we would be looking at a 6-19/7-18 finish over the final 25. Our SOS at the start of the season was much more difficult, so my assumption is that we play slightly above our current pace, and finish with 9 wins. Its hardly the outlandish statement you both seem to think it is.

we play the knicks, cavs, magic, wolves, bulls, okc x 2, hornets x 2. I could see us picking up 4 or 5 wins there plus a few random upset wins against teams due to scheduling/rest, etc. Either way, I think we will finish in the bottom 4 so im not overly concerned.

They're not going 3-22, that's a ridiculous expectation. 9-16 is a whole lot more realistic and who knows where that lands them, probably 4th I'd guess. I'd say somewhere between 7-18 and 9-16 is a realistic range. Their schedule down the stretch is a lot easier than the 1st half schedule was so the 13-34 record is a little deceiving.

As a Michigan guy I'm hoping UCLA takes down Gonzaga. That whole "Well, at least we lost to a finalist/the champs" thing.
