Well a wins a win, no matter how ugly it was in the 2nd half.

On the bright side, that’s a game the Mavs lose a year ago

Such bad basketball IQ on that team.

Up 7, Kleber falls for the fake and retreats instead of covering the 3pt line. You're up 7! Don't give a wide open 3! It's like the mistake he did against the Lakers, when he met Lebron at the rim instead of sticking to the 3pt line.

And then Richardson going nowhere with the ball. I don't even know why he had the ball in his hands and was running with it instead of trying to find Luka or Brunson.

I wonder how Richardson, who basically is useful only in D can play 39 minutes?

Well, the team managed to win. It's a shame the 4th quarter had to be atrocious.

Probably free throw shooting.

JRich is going to opt in if he keeps player like this.

Unfortunately yes. And he is untradeable playing like this.

Don't know what the hell that 4Q was all about and what Rick will say but Mavs surely have a more reliable player on the bench other than Jrich??? Felt like he played the entire game but was really a non factor on both ends.

Anyway, keep the W's coming in.

Brunson was the MVP of the night. He's the reason Dallas came out with the win.

Ugly game from Luka other than shooting. He seems to be struggling again with small injuries or tiredness. His defense has regressed, he isn't attacking the rim as often, poor free throw shooting, a lot of bad TOs...

Boban is a career .768 shooter. Plus rebounding the ball was the most important thing by far. Anyway, it didn't matter. I just have a flashback of KP getting out muscled in a situation just like this. Was it last year? I remember thinking they would be better off putting Luka instead of KP. Pretty sure the Mavs already lost a close one on a missed FT because KP didn't boxed out correctly, but I could be wrong.

Brunson was clutch tonight. Something that was lacking last season was a clutch player to finish the game.

They were double teamed him all the time. There's where Richardson should help. But he's just useless. 36 points on 15 shots, 11/15, 7/11 for 3 is elite of the elite. He can play ugly all the time, if he's shooting like that.

Brunson is perfect to play with Luka. D. focused on Luka and he's great creating for himself.

That 4th quarter gave me the same vibes of the last year meltdown against Toronto. Thank god it ended well this time.

Well CLEARLY whatever Mavs were doing was not working in the 4th. So maybe it would have been better if Rick forced Boston to adjust not the other way around. Specially because Mavs had the bigger lead. But hey, what do i know...

Let’s hope Tyler Bey becomes a real player otherwise that trade will be a total loss

Offensively, Smart is basically JRich. He is better on the defensive end though.

strongly agree with this.. i remember Charles Barkley jokingly tell a story about how he threatened to punch a coach maybe he says "ill punch your stupid head" and the guy goes don't forget you got a head too...
yeah, he might have a hard time guarding small guys but they will have a hard time against him too, scoring and rebounding wise.
but this also raises a red flag to me personally, its like just basically accepting or treating KP with kid gloves that you dont believe he can take advantage of those mismatches especially with this game against guys like smart, tatum, brown... its not like we want KP to battle with the elite strong bigs out there like adams, embiid and jokic, its legit small guys so i think its reasonable to expect him to rebound but instead you yank him out?? i dont get it. this is a guy on his 3rd yr of getting max money, dont coddle him too much.

KP was great, he shot 40% but was very active defensively, his +/- is very telling.
Luka shot out of his mind, but Celtics defense shot down the passing lanes and put A LOT of pressure on his dribble, the result is 8 TO and very few assists, Mavs didn't utilize screens to help him get 2 feet of space for the drive.
