Why is Giannis MVP?

Best record? Nope, 6th in the NBA, 3rd in conference.

Best counting stats? Not anywhere close by any objective measure. Does not lead any counting stat category. Isn't even in top 3 in any category.

Best advanced stats? Nope, according to RAPM, RPM, RAPTOR, BPM, not in top 5 in most of these.

Best defense? Just lol. Even if he was the best defensive player, he should be DPOY, not MVP.

Most impact? Jokic, LeBron, Harden clearly has him beat.

Giannis literally has zero/0 case for MVP. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't understand basketball. It is a shame that 20% of the poster here thinks Giannis is the MVP.

Giannis is their mvp because they got used to coming here and saying Giannis is the mvp for the last couple of years. Old habits die hard

I don't see those conference stuff being brought up during 18-19, where 5 out of 6 worst teams were in the East. The 14th Minny was only 8 games off a playoff spot in East. Rockets were just one Paul George buzz beater or a Michael Malone tanking trick away from the 2 seed, whereas the Bucks, only 2 games over Toronto (and Toronto lost 2 games on Jeremy Lamb half court heaves). Two of the worst 5 teams were from the Central division, the other 3 worst teams? Knicks, Hawks, Wizards, all played the Bucks 4 times (as an alternative to 3 games a year).

I get that Giannis is a deserved winner in 2019 and Jokic is the fan favorite this year because he both plays at a very high level and a fan favorite with such a likeable game compared to that other candidate, but some of you really need to let go of that obsession trying to discredit one player as hard as you can just because you don't like his game.

You do know that BKN has only 3 more wins than DEN? Its not like BKN has 35 wins and DEN 25.. And thats with Denver having a lot of issues with roster, like almost everyone besides Jokic missed some time.. Porter was out 2 times, we started season without Green, Morris is not playing for some time now, Harris was out and he was our starting SG and reason why we got back into UTA series last year, Facu, PJ, Barton, Millsap, Murray, all of them missed some games, and we had Facu, Green, Hartenstein as new players, and PJ who only got some minutes in PO because he had to with Barton being out. You also take into account making MPJ work with starters while also missing some games 2 times already, not sure how many games but it doesnt help to integrate him into starting lineup. We also lost Grant, Plumlee, Craig who all played good for Denver last year. Not to mention Murray being off in most of the games to start the season, he started playing good like month ago or so..

Age 26.

2xMVP
1xDPOY
1xMIP
1xASMVP
4xAll NBA
3xAll Defense
1xAll Rookie

I would be mad too, if i was a hater.
Thankfully i'm not, so I won't be having poison at heart in the upcoming years of his prime.
Get some help. You are going to need it.

PS. Joker will win this and if you don't like this either (we know that you don't), you can watch ESPN all day long, to ease your pain.

You forgot to log out of your alt account. Not surprising that Giannis slurpers are double dipping the votes.

I'm Jokic voter but don't let that distract you from your 15yr old anger.

Nuggets are now too good for Jokic to be MVP. His stats are already showing it. Porter and Murray are really picking up and Gordon and Javale will be a presence and Milsap will not be more limited when he goes cold.

Jokic has been doing carry jobs all season. A couple of games where he’s not other worldly mean nothing.

Helps his case actually because of wins.

MVP is about stats and then a record. Jokic has or had an exceptional PER stat but if it goes on like the last two games it will become non exceptional

Luka Doncic deserves better recognition.
He's been arguably playing his best basketball of his career in last few weeks.

Shams Charania: 76ers star Joel Embiid (knee) is expected to return on Saturday vs. Minnesota, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Barring any setbacks, the MVP candidate is back in lineup Saturday after missing three weeks.

I disagree.
I don't believe Luka is even in the race.

It will be good having him back bit he doesn't win MVP now.

He'll be in consideration if he can get the Mavs to the #3 seed or better.

Already missed 16 games and will miss 20 at least in a 72 game season.

Philly also kept the 1 seed the whole time he was out until today when they finally lost it. They went 7-3 in this recent stretch without him only losing a tight Ot game to Milwaukee when they shut them down in the 1st, @ Clippers and @ Denver after they got Aaron Gordon and look like a different team

I knew Schroeder was the Co-MVP of the Lakers but hes played very well this game. Definitely deserves that 20 million a year contract. Lakers just have to hope he doesent suck after getting paid.

Jokic not enough wins. Can’t win MVP
Jokic too many wins. Can’t win MVP

I swear the mental gymnastics people perform to discredit Jokic are hilarious.

With the teams Mavs have, already getting them to the top 5 seeds would almost automatically put him as the MVP favourite, let alone as one of the candidates.

It's actually crazy that people are suddenly throwing out the his team is too good argument when he's the only guy playing without an Official all star team mate.
