So cap space then.

Actually no, we don’t have any cap space once we sign Trent we will be over the cap with this mediocre core.

Trading Kyle was the only way we could get some positive.

Did you miss the memo that Trent has a tiny cap hold and therefore opens up our cap space - enabling us to spend up to the cap based on that cap hold, and then go well above the cap in order to sign him?

Apparently he did. But I've recently been informed that if if Trent meets certain mileposts in minutes (which he will), his cap hold is actually going to be around ~5 mill. And if we keep tanking, as everyone here and obviously Masai/Bobby want to, the 4-6 draft pick will also be around the same amount. So if Raps kick Boucher to the curb, we'll only have around 20 mill in cap space. If that's enough to bring in Holmes or Collins, then fine. Otherwise, it would be best to use up all our cap space (maybe even re-sign Kyle, or do an S&T with him) and then use the MLE to sign a serviceable big.

It’s not as much as you think and again, who are we signing?

Won’t be enough for Collins or Holmes or any decent player, just some guy around 10 mil, and for a team as mediocre as ours, what’s the point? We will sign GTJ and be over the cap and maybe add some bench piece at best.

This is our core but hopefully a good player can be added via the draft.

Find enjoyment where you can people. We've been through this before.

This upcoming stretch will decide what kind of lotto pick we'll be getting. If we lose in this stretch we have a legit shot at maybe breaking into the top 5.

The Raps can create about 25 mill in cap space in the offseason.

They won't sign GTJ until the cap space is used. GTJ in no way effects their flexibility other than having a 2 mill cap hold.

Except if someone else signs GTJ to a big offer sheet (as a RFA), we only have seven days to match if we want to retain GTJ. Our flexibility will be gone in 7 days after such an event.

I am glad that three of those games are on the back to back, and I think the Spurs, Lakers (even without AD and Lebron), and the Knicks are probable losses. However, I am nervous about some other games. Hoping Lowry can take all the time he needs, and some other players like FVV, OG, and Siakam are load managed in those games. Masai should tell Nurse to play guys like Baynes and Flynn around 30 minutes in a lot of those games.

Let's hope the Magic can come back!

Yess TRoss!

I feel like Houston will end up the worst team by the end of the year.

Lowry should shut it down for like the next 15 games, then come back for the last 10 to show that he's healthy.

If the other teams get hot, maybe they could be 4th worst.

Minnesota has Beasley back so they could win some more games.

If they tank REALLY hard, #2 isn't out of the question.

Our boy TRoss was huge in the clutch and the Magic win in OT. Raptors now within 1 game of the 4th pick!

Question about this....does this minutes/starter feature impact salary? Or just cap hold? Because if it's only the cap hold without salary implications....why wouldn't Trent agree to sit?

Warriors will be a trap game. They played the Heat tonight and have to fly to SF on a B2B. Must lose game for the Raptors.

It is friggin' disgraceful that the Wizards and Cavs lost tonight. What a bunch of sorry scrubs. Win some games, fools.

Yeah, the Cavs were playing the 76ers, but come on. Why did they totally collapse in the 2nd half? Put a bit more effort into it.

And the Wiz? Losing to the Pistons? Who do they think they are? Us?

God, we are going to have to double our tank effort. Just pull Lowry, OG, Siakim, FVV and GTJ for the entire season. Let our scrubs play only.

The Cavaliers have a tough schedule as well coming up. Being realistic as possible, I think it will be very difficult for the Raptors to be in the top 5, unless OG, Siakam, and FVV are load managed the rest of the year. The Cavaliers are in a great position to be in the 4th slot by the end of the year. The Raptors will be battling Washington and Orlando for the 5th.
