Who knows, but I didn’t read that much into it. It’s a common phrase. I think it was just his way of bragging on himself in his first game after being traded. I liked it.

Thank you, I was starting to think I was the only person on earth who had ever heard the phrase. Like you said, it's no big deal, hell it's not even a small deal.

I don't think it's a big deal either, but as a hardcore Bulls fan I'm just curious to know why Hutch thinks he was trash to the Bulls. From the outside looking in, it appeared he was given every opportunity to succeed but was just injured too often. Seems like a pretty open-shut case, but his Tweet + the weird circumstances surrounding the end of his tenure gives me the vibe that something more may have been going on.

Just no, because it goes both ways. Brown was the Wiz trash, but we're hoping to find a treasure. I had assumed that a trade was very possibly the reason he was shut down immediately, and it makes sense now that he was traded.

The Wiz probably scouted Lauri hard up to the deadline, hence the trade interest.

This is absolutely not a surprise. KD has shown and proven to be a extremely sensitive person, and him acting like a tough guy through message on social media is just pathetic.

You'd think someone with his type of lifestyle and money, would have better things to do with his life - hell, I could think of a million better things to do with my time, but whether it be fake accounts or responding to pointless tweets, he just comes across as so soft.

As far as being reprimanded by the league, being that they were private messages, you'd think that they wouldn't go there as far as punishment goes?

Man, he is so fragile, far out.

Yet so many fans here are terrified to try to compete in the same window as this dude, Flat Earth, and perennial playoff underachiever Harden. Yeah, they're crazy talented, but with their weird drama, and injury history...why we treating them like the prime GSWs???

I'm curious what he's hoping for in FA. 20 millionish seems like a more than fair offer. I can't see anyone giving him a monster offer. Maybe he can eek out 4/100 from someone.

Yeah it is a pretty interesting scenario. I mean 20 or 21 per seems good. Unless he thinks maybe he can sign a one and one a progress to a max contract? Or maybe his agent has someone willing to do 25 per that he knows about? I think the extension was a fair offer. I get that the FA class went from great to pretty barren so maybe that’s it. Seriously the 84/4 seemed like a really fair contract offer.

The intern responsible for putting together the graphics for Miami's game tonight listed Trevor Ariza as "Trevor Arenas." W

Raptors lose another one. I don't like how they're trying to out-tank us.

I’ve never seen a group of players that wanted the season to end so badly. They’re basically the team version of Eric Bledsoe’s "I don’t wanna be here" tweet. I can understand it, but man it’s ugly to watch.

Just wanted to share this cause it was a pretty good time seeing BJ Armstrong off his politician style. Stacey and BJ talk about hecklers back in the day, Carl Lewis singing the national anthem. Good, funny stuff. Great stories.

Charlotte with an 11 point first quarter against the Nets. Ouch.

Miami's defense looks stronger with Oladipo and Ariza and that wasn't a weak area for them.

WCJ starts the 2nd half due to injury. Seriously, what did Bamba do to Clifford to hate him so much?

Cliff has this weird thing that he wants some players to have the same role; regardless of injuries. Mo may be in that spot right now; he's been doing well in his minutes off the bench, so let him keep that same role. Just like keeping Ross coming off the bench at all cost. IDK

WCJr had his best game today. Let’s see if that effort level sticks.

Jokic and Lillard are easily my two favorite players in the league, and I root for both their teams because of them. Especially the Nuggets, who are just a fun-as-hell team to watch.

Aaron Gordon is fitting in right away with them, and they are looking great vs Kawhi and PG n co. I would really, really, really love it if they beat the Lakers and got to the Finals (to lose against the damn Nets, but still).

I know Kyrie annoys a lot of people with his off-court stuff, but that guy is so incredibly smooth with the basketball in his hands. He can get wherever he wants whenever he wants and make just about any shot. Like him or not, he's an incredible talent.

It’s tough. Nick Friedel is still taking large craps on our franchise...and just old times, like he’s totally correct.

Yep. Pretty much. He's not as good of a basketball player as his talent -- not a Top 10 player, which is by skills and by fan vote (perennial All Star starter) -- because he takes games off, doesn't defend well, and (let's not forget) he crapped the bed the one and only time he was asked to lead a team during the playoffs. But his talent is genuinely top notch.

I don’ t know - is he? Early to judge how this plays out. His hot take was based on something that happened 4 years ago, rather than 1 week ago.

I don’t argue that the Bulls are in the same place they were at before the rebuild (technically worse), but they do have more talent pieces than they did then (just 1, in Butler). Now they have Zach, Vuc, Patrick, and limp prospects in Lauri and Coby. And cap.

The girl nailed it; the Bulls went from fast-pace with 1 healthy big to having 4 rotation bigs and significantly more half-court action. Pros and cons to it; the poor man’s Portland model isn’t exactly a recipe for great success, if there’s an avenue for poor man’s Denver.

IMO losing out the year would be a great blessing in disguise, but the top-4 odds are a hail mary (25% at moment). I do think they start winning most games around Apr. 10th.

Now this is how you attract free agents. From my Heat Nation feed (Lord knows how I got it, but apparently there is no Bulls equivalent, or if so the Bulls can't find me), an article about how Pat Riley told Jimmy Butler that if the team goes out in the first round of the playoffs this year that Pat will retool the team. Allegedly, Pat promised Butler when he joined the Heat that the organization would surround him with enough talent during his prime to make the team a perennial contender, if Butler did his job according to expectations, and Pat wanted Butler to know that the franchise intends to honor its promise.

Now whether Riley can manage that feat, I don't know, but that approach surely has to help in attracting elite FAs. At least the ones who have been around a few blocks and more than anything, want to win.
