In the States is there restrictions for using NBA Gamepads? From abroad Gamepass has been a godsend, especially when following a non-top tier team

Yes there are. You can watch any team you want via league pass except your local team due to local blackout restrictions relating to the television contracts and local channels and their advertisers. There are ways to to get around it using vpn but it's inconvenient and a pain, it's a chore.

The issue as a Central Florida resident is that if I subscribe to NBA Gamepass I can watch any live game by any NBA team not named the Orlando Magic. The Magic are unfortunately blacked out for me.

Edit: I apologize for the redundant post. Optimus beat me by a few seconds.

Wow that sucks! We used to get that over here when our NZ SkyTV was showing the prime time games on their sports channels, but I think even that restriction is gone now

On my phone I can use vpn but it won't work on the NBA app because it won't let you use it unless you have the geolocation turn on. You can log in thru your mobile internet browser using vpn and it works to watch live games but it's very inconvenient and not user friendly. I have a toddler, I just want to turn on the game and not worry about getting around their antiquated rules.

It's going to renamed Bally Sports effective Tomorrow.

This is due to Sinclair's acquisition of the Fox Sports RSN's after Disney were forced to sell them off following The Fox acquisition.

Fox Sports Florida will be Bally Sports (No connection to those old Gyms).

I do not like the new logo and change at all.

Hopefully, the RSN's are sold again in a few hours.

BTW: Does anyone remember the old music and theme for those old Orlando Magic TV Network broadcasts on TV 18?

I just hope that the broadcast rights get picked up soon. I hate not being able to watch some of the Hornets games here in CLT, especially when they play the Magic home or away because then O can't watch the game even on League Pass.

I don't know when the deal is up but I doubt they would move as a new RSN would have to start up.

If a new RSN started up, it would be pricey and then there is carriage issues. Ohh, and our bills would definitely go up.

Agreed and their local news propaganda is crap.

Disney had to sell off the RSN's as part of the agreement so they would not have too much of a footprint.

Apparently this has so far not been a good investment for me and maybe they will eventually sell it out.

Until then, we are stuck with Bally's.

This is too funny.

I literally had the urge to watch/listen to those old intros a week or so ago and thought I might be able to find them on YouTube.

Like magic, I found some. See below.

I do appreciate that the radio broadcasts still use the most recent theme, but I'm usually never in my vehicle during games these days.

If only the team could use their own graphics and music these days.

I'll raise you: remember Sunshine Network? :P

I do miss the days of when half the games were on TV18 and WB18 games. When the games moved to UPN, the signal was not great and I think another channel was in the back round. Those were the pre-HD days.

I love that intro music and also wish someone could track down the 92-93 Music.

The good ole days which were over 25 years ago.

Apparently Bally's is a casino chain that bought the naming rights from Sinclair for the networks, Sinclair still owns the networks. Man they are essentially using the branding from a defunct company that screwed over their customers. What could go wrong....
