Owners approve 17 game season beginning in 2021

The league had already approved a scheduling formula for a 17th game, which would include an extra game against a nonconference opponent each year based on standings from the previous season.

Teams will rotate between nine home games and eight away games and vice versa every other year. Each team will continue to have one bye week.

i don't like it, they had the perfect schedule with 16 games and 32 teams. now there is a home/away unbalance

i mean i'll get over it because its not a big deal (to me)

Personally I don’t have a problem with this at all, from a fan’s perspective the more football the better!

Love the idea of more football, but I worry it may come at the cost of quality.

The NFL has a bit of an injury problem, and I think it stands to reason that there's a decent likelihood of teams choosing to sit stars for load management during the season as a precaution. After a year where Saquon, McCaffrey, and Dak basically didn't play, and two removed from Luck's retirement, staring down the barrel of a long-term CTE issue, I feel like the NFL's greed is causing them to dilute the quality of their product at the potential (but likely at least somewhat realized) expense of player safety.

Maybe if they took 3 weeks off at mid-season, or something like that, they could spread more, top-quality football across a greater part of the year without the added costs to the people that produce their product.

Oh well, I guess the NFL didn't learn from this past NBA season. Start messin with the schedule, meaning Taxing the health of the players, there won't be anyone left at the end of the season.

Answer. ADD more to the roster. Maybe a 65 or 70 from the 53 or whatever we got now
