End of the Road trip: Hawks @ Pelicans Game Thread

[N]ot only will the Pelicans again be playing without their top three scorers for a second straight game, but a fourth key contributor is also sidelined for tonight’s home tilt vs. Atlanta.

Lonzo Ball (right hip flexor strain), Brandon Ingram (right first MTP irritation) and Zion Williamson (right thumb sprain) were ruled out and won’t play against the Hawks. In addition, Josh Hart (right thumb sprain) joined those three players as being ruled out vs. Atlanta.

Four Atlanta players were listed as out ahead of Thursday’s game at San Antonio and did not play in the double overtime victory against the Spurs.

Wow both teams missing most of their starters.... If Hawks can pull this one out, they finish the West coast death road trip 4-4, that is very promising with the schedule easing up for the remainder of the season

Let's go for the 4-4!
It's what I called first before Shakes made me having doubts and think 3-5 would be great :-)

Completely forgot NOP is also on back-to-back, let's try hard this one

 sorry for the peer pressure. I'll be very happy if you were right and I was wrong. But, like I said in the other thread, when we made these predictions we had no idea Lebron would end up playing only 1 quarter vs us.

If all these key players are out tonight I think it favors us considering our depth vs their lack of depth.

 Right, it was a bonus, but when hoping for a 4-4, I didn't have LAL as a W, it was SAC.
For me, the three "sure" W were SAC, GSW and SAS because both last were back-to-back for them, and I thought Nate would try to take advantage of it. And I imagined they would be able to get another win on the 5 other games.

Now, we got lucky (some good players injured on opponents), and unlucky with some L that were almost W

And let's hope a DAL win Vs NYK, and a IND win Vs CHA ;-)

Every starter is out except Capela it seems. Hawks can't stay healthy this season, and they haven't even been directly affected by Covid. Onyeka displayed a great motor vs. SAS and he needs to bring that energy every time.

Bam was that type of player early on but he just developed his skills along the way. I expect an ugly game and loss unfortunately. I don't know about this lineup.

Real nice win, Okongwu is still raw but made one great move that you can't only teach, the young guy has some feel on the offensive end.

Didn't know what to expect but was impressed by this win. Bog, Lou, and Onyeka all coming on strong finally. We need Trae and Capela at their spryest come playoffs. Lou and Onyeka can help with that all the while building chemistry together on the 2nd unit.

Love how the season is developing in the final leg for the Hawks. The 2nd unit should be formidable once everyone gets involved and have their roles defined.
