Re: Tank World Order (2.0)
Getting the Wizards on the 2nd night of a B2B, wouldn't be surprised if they pulled some shenanigans and rested both Westbrook and Beal.
Need FVV to be out for us to have a chance.

I think the Wizards are one of those teams that want to make the play in tournament to please Beal. I don't think they're tanking. Just bad. I hope Beal plays because if he doesn't they ain't beating us.

I know he's in next years class but my favourite prospect overall right now is Jaden Hardy. He looks like a bigger, longer, and stronger Bradley Beal with very good handles or a super saiyan version of Buddy Hield. I would want to tank for HIM, he looks like the next elite bucket getter in the NBA.

Hachimura isn't playing today because of a shoulder injury. No Beal, No Hachimura. I think we win tomorrow unfortunately.
edit: win Monday.

All the non-playoff bound teams blatantly tanking. SMH

Probably precautionary and he'll get treatment and be back on Monday.

I do not blame them. There is no point in being a "treadmill" and mediocre, given how deep this draft is. I applaud these teams that are tanking, knowing the talent is available. This draft is not like 2013, when he had Anthony Bennett as the Number 1 pick, and former Raptor great Alex Len as the Number 5 pick. Frankly, I wish the Raptors record was where the Pistons or Rockets is right now. No point in winning meaningless games, only to sneak into 8th, and to get swept by the Sixers or Nets in the first round.

We should just stop paying attention to other teams losing or winning. It's sorta pointless. As long as we keep losing eventually we will crack the top 5. These other teams are in their hard stretches of their schedule while we're in the easy part. Just have to withstand pointless victories and eventually things will balance out.

The teams doing this all have a whole lot of experience tanking “the right way”. Kind of weird isn’t it. Maybe the Wiz can draft John Wall again.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

The fact this team did so bad during the easy part is amazing. Gives some cushion now where we can afford some fake wins here and there

Raps should be as well if they knew what was good for them. I'm ok with the occasional feel good win like we had against GSW, but let's not make a habit of it and ruin the draft pick. That's really all these guys are playing for now is a chance at a top 5-7 pick. Wins are completely meaningless and detrimental.

Now with FVV and Lowry out also, that will help. Regardless of where the Raptors finish in the end, hoping "luck" will be on our side and balls bounce in the right way, for this organization to get one of the top 4 picks.

Wizards drafting a 5x all star to go with Rui would be cool to see.

The covid "excuses" remark torpedoes your whole diatribe. If I'm harbouring "veiled anger" then by contrast you're carrying the flag that resembles sociopathic disdain for the human element in all this.Steelo Green wrote:canz55 wrote:How are they your boys when the instigators of this pathetic thread hate on our team constantly?720 wrote:Team Mediocre have settled to watching the Leafs and Blue Jays while us “fake” fans are still watching our boys play.
The thing that's interesting about TwO is that they act like the 2019/2020 season happened 10 years ago. Team tank lives in the moment like a house pet, they don't bother connecting the dots on much and view everything in a vacuum.

A bad move or decision is a bad move whether you won a championship yesterday or a decade ago.
You don’t stop being a GM or President and don’t stop getting paid as such. If you do great for your investors, they don’t say, well you did great last year so you get a pass.
There’s this misappropriation between expecting a title team in two seasons as you’ve alluded too (poorly at that with conjecture juxtaposed with veiled anger) and being critical of management mistakes.
The connecting of the dots was seen a lot more by TWO as they said this group isn’t as special as others would like you to believe.
When they went on a 15-7 run, everyone was puffing their chest with I told you sos, but since then it’s TB, injuries and COVID excuses that have plagued most teams. We were in TB when we went 15-7 no?
This team isn’t that good. The dots were connected rightly so a long time ago but some are seeing cross.
Don't you think the team deserves some form of empathy? At the very least can't we afford them some slack following a courageous 2020 season where they finished first in their division after losing their only superstar the season before?
I'm sorry but you and this twisted following are devoid of context and would rather measure the value of our team at their worst and never at their best. Yes it's been a tough year and there definitely are holes in the team that need to be addressed but for goodness sakes apply a little nuance for once - TwO acts like everything is black and white; you should all know better.

Re: Tank World Order (2.0)
Every team below us losing by double digits tonight. They all lost yesterday too while we won.
I doubt we get a top 5 pick SMH.
Would not be surprised if we end up drafting in the 8-12 range.

3 massive blowouts tonight. The tank competition is going to hit another gear the rest of the way. Time to drop the stealth tank and go all out.
Some suggestions:
cousins birthday
diarrhea
Jays are on
sudden fear of flying

Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Realistically, it's going to be hard to out tank the Pistons / Cavs / Magic / Wizards. But we need to stay behind Chicago and Indiana and out of those play in games.
Maybe Russ goes off tomorrow, that would be best case. An L would be big

I agree, when healthy we won't out tank those bottom 4 east teams. Chicago has had a rough stretch, losing 6 in a row. I don't think we catch up to Indiana but it scares me how close we are to Chicago.
Hopefully we decide to rest Fred for a while, and at least 1 of Beal/Hachimura can play tomorrow.

tWo calling the team "our boys" is the equivalent of calling Paul Pierce a Raptor legend
