I like to remind everyone that Kawhi was a 15th pick as was Giannis. And Jimmy Butler was what, #29 his draft year. You can go right down the line from draft to draft, and there are great picks sprinkled throughout. The trick is to have good scouting and a but of luck.
Not to say history always repeats itself, or that the top guys in our mock drafts this year aren't very good, even great prospects, but let's not freak out over lottery balls no one can control (not even the league, I'm not a big conspiracy theorist).

They’re all in their tough stretch while we’re in our easy stretch. We also play 5 games in 7 nights this upcoming week. Things change quickly for better or for worse.

We win by 50, because Golden States took Curry and Green off. We have been against the gambling odd, so I am not surprised we will win again when our odd becomes negative again.

The 12 - 18 range are prospects not performing well, but with good physical tools. Probably people are not exciting, and have no scouting reports on them.
I think those could be Keon Johnson, Moody, Isaiah Jackson, Ziaire Williams, Usman Garuba, Kai Jones, BJ Boston type? Have to wait for measurement, and probably depend if they have the mental toughness to keep improving. I think Davion Mitchell maybe on the list, just that he is pretty old for a rookie.

Yeah and truth be told this is like our only shot at the top 5 pick for probably years to come so it makes total sense why many of us are so focused up top.

I don’t really see Kuminga being a 2 guard. He’s more of a 3/4 to me. Basically Pascal in OGs body
Maybe in present skillset but in terms of size he's basically the same as Jaylen Brown (6'7 with a 6'11 wingspan) or a McGrady (6'8 and 7'1).

For sure you can unearth finds at any spot in the draft and you cannot control your fate to some degree, but at this stage Toronto can look at other teams resting guys and do the same.
No need for Lowry and FVV to play through any injury for a team below .500. Pascal should also get his health back after COVID, maybe OG too. At least no back to backs for those guys.
Sam Presti was the guy who drafted Durant, Westbrook and Harden and built a superteam. All Toronto needs is to get one hit. Masai and Bobby are smart enough to do it in one year.
Not saying they need to be the worst but finishing around the bottom 5 makes sense in a short season, playing outside of Toronto and at a time where your max players just had a horrific disease with chronic pulmonary implications. To me, all signs are saying shut this thing down.

he'd fit here like a glove man. I would honestly want him starting with GTJ, if we draft him nurse gonna do some 3 man guard bull.

Fred is the next on the sell high list. His rep and affordable contract hopefully nets us a similar talent to GTJ at the 5.

Would be great tbh but we need someone like Fvv for that extra closer/ ball handler on the floor in crunch time, shooter and just winning mentality. I hate on him at times but he's a winning player and once we get back to those winning ways I'd like to keep him. I dknt know if a guy like Turner would help more than Fvv. I'd like to see way more from Flynn before we decide to trade Fvv.

Re: The Official Cunningham vs Suggs Thread #Tank4Either
Suggs is phenomenal.
He’s seasoned. Never rushed. Won at every level. Makes teammates better. Coach loves him. Elite athlete(d1 football offer) he’s 20ppg7 assist 5 rpg depending on the team that drafts him.
I think he’s Jason Kidd lite.
Probably a better shooter at the same stage but not as relentless as Kidd was to push the ball in transition. Plus Kidd dominated the ball but Suggs defers to teammates lots

Agreed. They won me over this tourney and became the team I looked forward to watching. Played with alot of heart.
I felt bad wanting Zags to win, to set up the epic final with Baylor, featuring Suggs against Mitchell. But UCLA kept stroking it, and a guy like Campbell - the smaller reincarnation of Kyle Lowry - has to win you over. He took two charges!
Is there any chance that kid gets a shot in the pros? I suppose europe maybe?
I have to admit I am completely incapable of projecting college to pro translations. Every year there are tons of guys that I think should get a shot that never get a sniff. I guess for him it's mostly size....but he was such a patient player. Never forcing anything. Hard to accept he couldnt figure things out enough to get a shot at the pros.

5' 9", and not a great 3-point shooter. No chance.
He can pitch in the major leagues, tho'.

Re: The Official Cunningham vs Suggs Thread #Tank4Either
Has anyone mentioned an Isiah Thomas comparison for Suggs? I was trying to think of a current player to compare him to and couldnt come up with a good one. I only watched the tournament games though.
