"We" gotta 'em on the ropes again. Keep Beckett in as long as possible. Use GAGNE to set up Pap today, IMO.

All your posts are about killing people or wishing they would die. I'd suggest checking out a shrink for that.

Theo makes the roster, no reason to go on a killing spree.

my apologies. too many times in my life, at this time of yr, i thought the red sox were better than they performed. that, and i hate the yankees.

that being said, i really do hope jacoby makes the roster. i can't see how, he being in there with manny and coco is not our best outfield.

additionally, he is a on hot streak- and you may as well ride it while it lasts....

I'm not so sure the reason why Hinske got the start over Jacoby, I'm assuming not the wrist issue seeing Jacoby was able to play. Hinske did have very good career numbers against Wang so maybe that was the simple reason. Either way Hinske did play well and Jacoby was able to play great too.

As for the playoff roster I don't see how Ellsbury doesn't make the it. Here are the 23, final 2 who knows.

Beckett
Schilling
Dice-K
Wakefield
Papelbon
Okajima
Timlin
Gagne
Delcarmen
Tavarez
Snyder
Tek
Cash or Doug
Youk
Pedroia
Lugo
Cora
Lowell
Ramirez
Ellsbury
Crisp
Drew
Ortiz

That leaves two spots it would be between Buchholz, Hinske, Kielty, Lopez.

My picks would be Clay and Kielty, but of course injuries sure could happen too. Too early to be worry about a playoff roster I suppose.

sunshine, if you have a chance, can you post a scouting report on kielty, i haven't seen too much out of him but you seem high on him. i would like clay and hinkse.

i have no confidence in lopez

The problem with keeping Hinske over Kielty is you have no right handed hitters on your bench besides the backup catcher. Of course Hinske is nice to have with him being able to play first, third, and the corner outfield spots. However, with a tough lefty on the mound the team is going to want to use a right handed hitter over JD Drew.

Kielty is hitting .333 against lefties for the Red Sox this year. If Drew could hit lefties it wouldn't be an issue but he's at .212 for the year.

They said at the start that Hinske got the start over Jacoby due to Hinske's number against Wang. He was hitting over . 400 I believe what the stats showed.

Twas great to see Eric Hinske, of all people, plow into Posada. Now let's win today, and move on with it.

Hinske had no where to go, he had to do that. I wish Ortiz would have done it on Friday too. Jorge basically just sits on the plate, got make him pay for that.

Hinske knocking Jorge into next week might have helped Jacoby slide in there next to his tag. Jorge didnt even make an attempt to tag him and maybe he thought he was going to get nailed by Jacoby.
