Reason why the Heat would want Gasol If bought out. IMO I do not think the Lakers will release him

You would need to add Davis and Harrel to lakers as rebounding bigs that will log center minutes too, not to mention, Lebron, Morris etc, they can play very big

Simmons and Harris will play a part also into Sixers size advantage in the paint

Millsap, Gordon, Porter jr will play a part also into Denver size advantage in the paint

We only have 1 true big in Bam to battle all those guys, and Bam is undersized...

We need to add 1 big body rebounder post defender, just in case..

Nothing activates this thread more than the topic of adding a big body

which is funny because in terms of impact on our season -

Oladipos level of play >>>>> Whichever big we add

The important question right now is - what kind of an offensive production do you think Dipo gives us?

I'm with you on that.

VO has obviously not shot well so far, but IMO we're already seeing some of his offensive production. Just having another threat to pierce the interior of the defense is helping our shooters get better looks. There's his drive and kick game (9 assists through 2 games) but also just generally defenders can't be as aggressive crowding our shooters when VO is zipping around out there and a threat to get in the paint in a blur.

Despite his bad shooting I honestly think his presence on the court has benefited us on offense. Now we need him to get more fully integrated into the offense, making some open looks, and working on that 2-man pick and roll game with Bam and it'll bump our offense up a notch.

Dipo IMO is adjusting his range again after a serious injury that took away his elevation. Part of shooting is elevated release/muscle memory. I’ve seen many of his shot hit the front rim. He’ll get eventually.

Duncan can probably get more than that especially now that there aren't many other top FA options. Especially if he can keep shooting like he has lately. Joe Harris makes about $18 mil per year and Bertans makes $16 mil per year. I just mentioned 'less than 16 mil per year' because I'm referring to some people on here that mentioned Duncan would sign for $15 mil. That would be a good deal for the Heat IMO so I hope it happens. Nice profile pic by the way!

By rule we have to fill the spot by the 8th right? Buyout candidates take 2 days to clear waivers so if they were "waiting" on somebody to bought out today is the day it would have to be done for them to clear waivers and be signed. It's so odd they'd run this all the way down to the 8th instead of getting a guy in sooner so he can get acclimated to the the team and system. What are we down to now, Dedmon, Mfiondu, Justin Patton. I guess Juwan Howard isn't busy now either.
